I am concerned that the Zspeed one will be too rigid and buckle under daily driving of my lowered car, when I have a lip on, it scrapes a lot and I would think the plastic one would give more

^^Hahahaha!

My plastic under shroud has a small tear in it, so I checked with the dealer about a new one. It costs almost as much as the Zspeed one, so anyone looking to replace it may as well upgrade. I'm holding out till I put my Vertex bumper on to see what will work with it...

Microsteve, when you put your Vertex bumper on let me know if the zspeed undershroud works for you as I have the same bumper and am looking into getting the undershroud

Do you use that with your V2 bumper? Did it fit just as well?
Fits perfectly with the V2

I think he has it backwards

Stainless steel is much more rigid than the plastic OEM version and will not buckle or sag. If you're lowered it works better due to the upgraded bolts and adaptors that come with the Z Speed version.

I bought one used for less than the OEM so it was a win-win for me

I think he was going with the logic of it bending/breaking due to an impact. Where the OEM plastic one will flex, the aluminum would bend or crack since it is rigid.

I'm lowered, have a Evo-R lip and run the aluminum Z1 under-shroud. I've scraped a lot and the aluminum piece is still in perfect shape. The only thing that would mess it up is a direct frontal impact, but at that point, you'd have bigger problems.

What you actually said make more sense but that's not what he was saying.

i just installed the zspeed on the other day
i ripped my plastic one and lost some of the OEM screws trying to pull into a parking lot. Super easy install and i feel like it will protect my oil pan when i go low

+1

That's not not what he said, and I don't want people to believe that it would be less secure/rigid than the OEM when it's much more
