Default Looking for some headlight buying advice

I recently was involved in an accident on my 03 350z enthusiast in which my front end was hosed pretty well. Both headlamps have been smashed with only one ballast remaining. I am going to take the time to slowly put my baby back together as I am in no rush right now. I need some advice as to what would be the most cost effective buy on some new headlamp assembly. I do not have the money to buy new headlamps directly from Nissan as those are an arm and a leg. Used would be fine with me but chances of finding good condition used OEM ones are difficult. My father and I are fairly handy when it comes to cars and we can take the time to do it right. What are my options if I want good quality headlamps at a reasonable price? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd look for a used set on eBay or here in the Marketplace. To give you an idea of prices, I got my bi-xenons for $750 and I sold my '03 xenons in great shape for $400.

You say that you are handy, to get an even better deal, look for some that have light damage to either the lenses or the mounting tabs, or both. The tabs and the lenses are easy to repair. For instance, I bought a set of bi-xenons from a guy on CL for $260 because he drove his Z through some shrubs and put DEEP scratches in the lenses. I wet sanded and polished out the scratches and sold them for $600 on eBay (they sold in a matter of minutes).
