Easily my favorite Z! Looks fantastic!
Sorry for the late reply but the pic that Wais posted on the last page is of my lights. It's not very noticeable. The tape may help a little bit, definitely won't hurt.
It didn't happen right away so it isn't their fault. That said, I have seen this on a few Zs with painted lights.

Aw ... lol.. the memories. These are my lights here in your bottom pic off his gallery. ( before i ripped them apart and went wild on them lol) We painted the bottom part under the projector shroud semi flat silver.. gives off a little more heat reflection, lighting shape etc.
thumbs up to Cesar again.. he had some spare parts for me in a pinch when i started breaking things as I learned the workings of these lights and modding on my own..
btw i posted a HUGE thread on DIY for 06 light mods earlier this year.. pics of everything, well lit, fully taken apart all the way down to taking apart the projector itself w multiple angle shots..., wiring, etc etc.. the insul tape, EVERYTHING.....easy to search for in my stats under my profile... in case anyone wants to do it themselves.. and to do it the right way like a pro, not backyard style..
