Okay I got two questions about nismo front bumper. First, I know the bumper comes with the lip, then the bar that replaces the stock black "grill", but is it possible to order or install JUST that front bar, then add the v1 front lip for the lower part of the bumper? If so, does any have pics or know anyone who's done this yet?
Second, I've seen on some Nismo front bumpers, there looks to be some little rectangular piece right above the middle of that bar. Some front bumpers I've seen it, on others it simply isnt there. Does anyone know what that is, or if it's something you put on seperate?
Thanks in advance

okay..... I think you have a misunderstanding on how nismo front bar is sold...
It is a whole bumper ONLY.... one piece instead of two pieces. So that means the lip is integrated with the bumper and it cannot be separated AT ALL... if you cut the lip off... well.... you actually cut off the lower section of the whole bumper. So I don't think anyone will do. It might be better off for you to just get the VS lip because it will end up to be what you want minus the middle bar and the mesh at the air dam.
The rectangular piece at the upper section of air dam is for the license holder. You can also notice a circular cut on that rectangular shape piece, that's where you can insert the towing hook when you need to.
cheers,
richie

Thanks for the response. I understand what you mean now, thanks for clearing it up
And yeah I think I may end up going with v1 front lip, definitely not trying to take apart an $800 front bumper and mess with it!

Regarding your second question
The rectangular piece on some Nismo front bumper is a plate holder however I don't think it will fit a US plate only Japan or Europe plate. The hole in the center of the plate holder is incase you need your car towed as you know our cars are too low to be dragged so the tow truck would have to pull it onto the bed and that hole is where the tow hook goes. And lastly the real Nismo bumpers do not have the plate holder (this is why some you see it and some you don't) it is only present in the replica version of the Nismo kit.

The real nismo bumper (Genuine) DOES have that piece as mine is straight from Nismo Japan and they do have the rectangular shape... and also the regular Nismo stamp behind the bumper...

I've thought about getting ONE chrome stick-on, like the ppl on this board w/ using those door liners from pepboys, and then painting it body coloured... any thoughts on whether this would look good? is there a professional alternative to getting that bar?

My bad.... I guess the shop who sold me mine was wrong. I noticed the picture of the Nismo Z (it doesn't have the plate holder) so I asked the shop why mine has it he told me its because the replicas have it and the Genuine don't I guess you just proved him wrong. I wonder if one can just cut that piece off?
I guess the person who has that genuine front bumper must have cut the piece out himself... but I just wonder why though... because the geniune kit comes with the license plate holder which can be bolted on directly on to the front number, probably his does not want to display his front license plate to achieve a cleaner front end...

Actually that's a really good idea... i really like the bar that goes across the grill... it's too bad it doesn't come as a separate piece

1) only the front part would be painted because it is only the strip.
2) it is too skinny by itself and would seem a bit wimpy.
i have been thinking the same thing as you actually. there was a thread i was involved with a while back concerning this. i gave up on the center bar for now and i am actually quite happy with the chrome strips. cant go wrong for $6.
actually, my understanding from the ppl at performance nissan is that when the nismo bumper hits the usa, it will be the lip and bar add-ons only. not the entire bumper. not sure how accurate that info still is as it is a few months old now and it could have changed by now.
