Wrecked front fascia [bumper] - What should I Replace With?
Long story short, I was driving back home through Virginia at about 3am and I ran over a piece of exploded tire from an 18-wheeler. Right in the middle of the road, almost missed it too. Anyway it smashed the first foot or so of my front bumper right off, the place directly in front of my driver side tire. So sad
So I'm about to call insurance and see what they say about it and whatever options they give me with my deductible and what not. Wondering if I find a good body shop to work with, I might be able to swap in an aftermarket bumper instead of them going to Nissan for a factory replacement. It seems there are quite a bit out there similiar in price to what the stock replacement costs anyway.
I'm not sure if this will even be possible because I havn't talked to insurance yet. But I'm new to my Z and not sure what options are out there for a front fascia. The rest of my car is stock so I am afraid a custom front bumper alone might look dumb? So something subtle but nice?

FOR THIS OEM PART!A aftermarket is sure to cost less.Just make sure you select a bumper that has a rep for a great fit.

it only left rubber streak on front bumper that should come off once I rub it off.
My suggestion would be a NISMO 1 or 2. You don't want to get too wild considering you wont have matching sideskirts or rear bumper. Good luck!
OEM bumper is around $450
My replica Nismo V2 was $250
My replica V2 side $200
Insurance will give you $450, + paint and labor cost
You will need to come out of pocket a little to get the extra paintwork of side skirts done.
Simple and easy, I just woudn't claim it. Have a clean record for when something actually bad happens.

I'd remove the bumper or bring it to the shop for them to tear it apart before the adjust comes just to make sure the bumper and possibly undertray were the only things damaged.
Go with whatever you want, but I can't say I'd recommend that V2 poly. They haven't gotten the materials/chemical mixture right yet.
