Default Opinion on roof

So I currently have a stock exterior on my 05 Silverstone Z and plan on purchasing the Seibon TS style hood, I was also planning on do something with the roof to have the black/carbon fiber theme flow across the top of the car because my back window is 15% tint. So should I just get a cheap black overlay or carbon fiber overlay made from 3M? Or spend the extra money and get a real carbon fiber cover?

Hmm good point, If I did go the overlay route though I have a local shop that could cut and place it on the car for a very small fee so im not worried about screwing it up just if it will look the same quality as the hood will.

Need more options, sticky rice is never a good thing. Ever think about painting the hood to match the car, sure you don't get as many rice points for it, but the car will look cleaner.

The vinyl MAY look the same as the hood when you get it, but the hood will fade faster than the vinyl will, if it does at all. I would seek out an Asuka double hump, then pick up the cf hatch thats on the East coast!!!!

What do you mean? I plan on purchasing a new hood for the looks and wanted to do the roof as well to emphasize hood.

I saw the hatch and debated it but then I'd have to get the A-pillars as well and that throws the cost into a new ball park and im not big on getting each piece to a project one at a time I'll take a look at the asuka double hump though!

I would go with the carbon fiber roof, that's what I want to do to my car but I just can't find a good quality one out there yet.

FYI, Im 83.5% sure the Asuka roof is discontinued... and you wouldnt HAVE to get the A pillars! Just go hood, roof, hatch! and terrasmak is ALLLLL FUNCTION, his car is pleasing to the eye because it all works....anything unnecessary (a carbon fiber hood that is the same weight as OEM) or adding weight with a roof cover.... The hatch really would save weight though... especially if you took the glass out and put the lightweight plastic stuff in it!

wrap the roof w vinyl gloss black to match the rar glass, its the only like to extend, the hood has nothing to do w the roof or trunk glass at 15%.

cheap and reversible and doesnt add any weight ha.

plenty of pics on it in google, look for yourself.

Not keen of CF hoods or roof.
However,if you are doing the hood in CF(I'd do a vented hood), do the roof in a real CF cover so both will match.Vinyl CF wrap is just not gonna have the same matching twill pattern and finish.Other option is just to do the roof in a gloss vinyl to match your rear window. Can the hood idea.

The hood I plan to get is vented and was the original plan the roof is an after thought so honestly if there's no good solid choice I just will keep it silverstone. Heres a picture of the hood I plan on getting.

get the seibon CF roof not the overlay. i have a 3M overlay and if i were to do it over i would've gotten an asuka roof or painted the roof gloss black.

Paint the hood to match the body. Paint the roof gloss black to match your tinted windows
