Default factory steering wheel re-upholstrey

anyone here gotten any custom upholstrey done to the factory steering wheel?

right now i have a quick release and steering wheel.. i originally got the setup because my factory wheel has some wear and tear on it and i thought the quick release and wheel looked really sexy ...... well.. now that i'm over how sexy it looks i start thinking more and more about how un-sexy my face would be looking if i had a bad collision

anyways .. a local place here can wrap the wheel with alcantara and add padding to make the grip thicker , i know it is not cheap but it is something i want to do before re-installing it back in my car.

just wanting to see some pics of anyone who has had their factory wheels re-upholstered.

i want mine to be done with black alcantara and gray stitching.

here is my current Q/R and wheel that will be for sell as soon as i get the factory wheel back in..... i've had this setup for about 6 months, it is practically new.

there is a place called Dallas Custom Wheel that i just sent my Evo X steering wheel to get redone, they are a reputable place and i've seen both examples here and on EvoM...

i bit the bullet myself after seeing a custom wheel redone last week by them, and Don's prices really aren't that bad for the customization.. i'll post picts of my steering wheel after its completed...

that is funny because that is the exact place that i emailed about getting it done, i live in mesquite so he is just a short drive from me. it's just a matter of saving up the cash .. if i could sell the Q/R and steering wheel combo to pay for the upholstrey that would be perfect haha

I'd avoid the Alcantara on a steering wheel. as it will wear very poorly. Fine for a shift boot, or headliner, but not on heavy contact surfaces.

here's my Evo X wheel.

Black/Perforated leather, Thumb Grips, Red slant stitch, Red Stripe, and thicker padding (the 1/8th option).

lol. no its a wannabe sequential shifter. since the evo mr is a twin-clutch, you can shift with the center gear selector-- well it's the type similar to audi where you pull up from underneath the shift **** to get into gear- so the coltspeed contraption turns that to a grip-shift like motion.

its my super rice mod for the car. i like it.
