post your shift **** pics here!!!
I'm trying to decide on a new **** to go with my new shift boot (Thanks Dave!). If anyone has an aftermarket shift ****, please post here, as I'm sure many people are interested. Things to consider.
1. Brand of shift ****
2. Grip of ****
3. Does it get very cold/hot easy
4. Weight compared to stock
5. Any shortening of throw
6. How well it matches interior
7. Price, and where bought from
I know there is a lot there, but it sure would help me and other members if you could answer whichever ones you can. Thanks, and pictures would be a major bonus.

Its a Nismo GT Titanium shift ****. It feels nice, solid. It came with a 5-speed shift pattern to stick on the top though. I'll leave that off.
My wife bought it for me from Performance Nissan (you can see them all over this site).
I'll post more after I get it installed.

Yea. I'm having a hard time deciding too. I don't care for the Nismo though. It's just a little to bland looking. I will say that someone on this forum has one of those sparco x-speed, or r-speed shifters installed & it looks pretty darn good.

I chose to stay stock..the metal ones are way to cold in the winter, way to hot in the summer....even the Ti ones.
I think stock is juuuuussssttttt riiiiigggggghhhhhtttt

A quick question (or two) for those who have installed the nismo titanium shifters. Sorry if these have been covered before...
How do you remove the stock shifter?
And do you need to replace the shifter boot when you replace the ****, or can you re-use the stock one?
Thanks,
Steve in AZ

very carefully! you can search other threads but i will try to answer your questions
for some the stock shifters is a pain to get off i would recommend you take it to the dealer like i did. if you got a good relationship with your dealer it should cost too much i think they charged me $15 becuase if they mess it up its not your problem. also the stock shifter is reuseable unless it breaks coming off which ive heard of a few cases that it does because its locked on there and they use a big wrench to get it off. if you want to tak eit off your self just remember to hold or clamo the linkage the part that the knod screw onto beause if it twists around it could mess up your trasmission (mine came off just fine). here is the good news the nismo shifters dont lock back on so you can just twist them back off also the stock shifter doesnt lock back on either so once you initially take it off its pretty easy to just screw and unscrew all the shifters..
no new boot required altiugh be careful not to tear it when taking the **** off.
i had the carbon fiber nismo but when i sold it i put teh stock back on till i got my titanium.
does that help if you got any more just ask ive had three different ***** so i probably can help you out

its somthing about metal shiftknobs that just make me "feel" the shifts better. its like i can tell if the tranny is in gear or not. yea they can become hot or cold during extreme weather...but after a few mins of warm up or the a/c running...its gone. but i definately think metal ***** give a better feel for the driver.
