new bumper question?
so I just ordered my new bumper, I am afraid the new paint will be way too different compared to the old paint. I don't want it to look tacky
Do any of you have pictures of your new bumper painted with your old paint car?
What choices do I have?

I seen people where their bumpers and body paint differ so much that it almost makes the car look ricey... but i guess i must blame the painter not the paint
hey end of z! mind posting some pics once you got your car finished?

It's a gamble when painting by color code alone. Keep in mind your Z has probably had years of sun exposure so the color isn't what it used to be. Even when blending with the hood and fenders the rest of the car can still look "off."

ya it should be done this Friday so it'll be soon I'm getting a new hood too but the hood is.getting painted seperate so I can have a hood for saturdays event up here in mn lol. Then back to the shop for hood paint lol
What color is your car?
Some colors such as the silvers/silverstone blend better than
say a white.Red at times is hard to match.
A good paint shop should be able to do a pretty good match.
This is one area not to go cheap.

Honestly whenever you have to paint just one part there's going to be the chance of it not matching perfectly. There are other factors aside from the age of the original paint that will also play a part of this. Most shops can do some pretty solid paint matching though.
Take your time, shop around, and try to find a good reputable shop in your area. A good paint shop will have no issues showing off the quality of their work to inquiring customers.

From my experience, silver is hard to match... All the parts I've ever had painted never matched perfectly, although I've had some that were close. This was between a couple different shops too.
