Default Gauge Cluster Question...

Hey guys. I hate the OEM orange on the OEM gauge cluster face. I know that you can purchase a new gauge face from an aftermarket company, however I'm wondering if I would need to upgrade the LEDs as well to get rid of the orange? My question is basically: What color would the backlight glow if I had a white font instead of the OEM orange. I assume the glow is only orange because it shines through the orange, and is actually a white light?

Here's the gauge face I'm interested in. My goal is to get the backlight to glow white. Please let me know if you know what color the OEM backlight LED is. Thanks!

Not positive, but I believe the LEDs themselves are orange, which is why it is such an extensive project to swap the color.

Geez..I've had tons of cars. All the dash lights were different.
You just learn to live with what the car has.
If the color of the gauge lights was a serious problem causing
major pain, you should have bought another type of car.I sure
did'nt pass on buying my Z because the gauge lights were not
the right color.
What other mods have you done to your car?
Bet LED's are at the head of the list...
