In the process of changing my security light led. Check the voltage and its only getting 2.32 volts. Is this normal?

Probably - 12V would cook an LED.

 

Yea thats what i thought but there was a led already in place. I put a UV led in place lasted a couple of days. So i bought another one put it in now nothing. Bought a blue one with a mcd rating of 2600 and it worked for a couple of hours.
