Default Tinting rear lights

How difficult is it to mess up tinting my back lights, any recommended tint brand or darkness, and do I have to remove my lights to do it or can I leave them on?

I don't think it would be too difficult, but if you do decide to tint them you probably shouldn't go too dark. Might be hard for other people to see you braking!

Get the 3M overlays, or you could even do it with regular window tint and cut it yourself. Easily done right if you take your time, and fully reversible should you grow tired of the look or sell the car.

If you are set on painting them yourself, on my old car I used Tamiya plastic model paint (smoke). It is a fairly light tint so to get really dark you need alot of coats, but it polishes up very well and bonds to the plastic lenses so it also gets a little scratch proofing.

The 3m overlays work good but leave that sticky resedue when removed i just had mine painted. The leds look clear and good at night but to each their own.

Simple to mess up, just add any tint to them and they are messed up.

Tinted mine a while back... Then pulled them off cuz it really didn't do anything good for the car.
