Will the rain/snow damage anything in the engine bay??

i did notice when i looked at the evo8 on the (brand new) lot, that it had a good bit of rust on the manifold! im assuming it was due to the elements having access to them through the hood vents??? stop by a mitsu dealer and take a look! just my $.02

The evo manifold is cast iron...first time it gets moist then heats and cools it will get surface rust.....but it wil outlast the car!
