Default Where to Get New Set of Keys???

Last night the kid at Walmart Auto told me he can make me a set of keys.
He tested my key and said it wasnt a transponder key.
Later I went to try it out and it didnt open my door.
When I got in the car, I tried it at the ignition.
It wouldnt turn over the engine.
I was just courious to know if there was a cheaper way to get keys made.
I had keys made for my Acura TL and it costed over $100.
Thanks for the help

you can buy blank keys off ebay that have a transponder chip...although many have said these don't hold their coding or whatever it is, that well and may stop working...

either way, you'll need to get it cut and the transponder coded by a locksmith or Nissan dealer.

so all in all, cheapest method would be an eBay key, get a locksmith to cut and program for you.

i bought a blank offline and Ace Hardware cut and programmed it. I can't remember the cost though, but I think it was in excess of $100 for the key and service.

I have a perfect never used key and fob for my old Z. Hmm wonder if I can get that one programmed? Maybe not since it was already cut to another Z

You can program up to 3 fobs yourself. I searched when I got my car in 2010 and did it myself. I got the keys on ebay and the dealer I bought the car from programmed them, cut them at lowes.

I ordered a flip key off eBay, so hopefully Lowes in Canada will cut it for me...

I've been to Walmart, Canadian tire, and Home Depot locations and all of the, said they only cut blanks that they sell.

Plan to call local locksmiths as well for programming and cutting

You can buy the real keys on flea gay but from what I researched only the dealer can program them. That sukcs, on my Ford I can do it myself with two original keys. Glass half full - It's theft prevention. You don't want a valet or someone that can borrow your keys for 15 min duplicating them.
