Was that me??? Chrome silver Z with a Fairlady Badge, Nismo LP frame, probably before I got my 'HEY YA' plates, I'm usually around I 35 between Downtown and Lewisville, and all around...

I know you guys are talking about amber bulbs but the ones I have I just picked up from Wal-Mart (clear GE brand I believe, not sure about the wattage) and they are VERY bright. I get just about as many comments on my turn signals as anything else on my car, including the car itself...makes me laugh, this $12 mod. So yeah, they do attract attention, but oh well. I figure if I get pulled over by a cop having a poopie day then I'll get it for no front plate, 5% tint, and the signals! Sweetness.

I cant really say they WONT fit the Z, but they are a different size... not its possible that the 3157 has the same base and will plug in... but it definitly looks longer. kind of a funny shape.

actually I dont think so. the 7440 the Z has is a T-20 base, the 3157 is a T-25.

the G35 does use the same bulb, 7440.

Interesting. So Ares we have 7440 bulbs huh? Did you see only 1 wire on each side of the base of the bulb and NOT 2 (double-fillement)?

yes the double filiment is for brake lights, thus the 5/21w labeling of brake light bulbs. double filiment is the 7443 bulb I beleive.

the 7440 thats in the turn signals is single contact(+&-), single filiment.

in some LED cases they group them together. since the plug for turn signals does have contacts for 4 contacts, it would light up both filiments if you had such a bulb in there. for LEDs this isnt a problem; for regular bulbs, Id imagine thatd be more heat then they should have.

I took zxsaint's advice and ordered parking bulbs, silver turn signal bulbs, and silver backup lights (light up hyper white or something) from his suggested website. I only ended up paying like $13.00 for everything from them so I figured why not try them out.

I should be installing them in one week so I'll post a write up then. Hopefully these will work for all of us.

Great news hope they come to the UK and US soon. I ordered the wrong type Philips Silvervision bulbs.

They are not as Silver looking as some of the pictures you see of bulbs (ebay etc.), but I think they may avoid some of the possible problems mentioned here by being from a quality source and would probably look more silver once installed (because they're reflecting the reflector).

Well I got them in today and tried them out and let me just say that I am very dissappointed and the search continues. I thought picking one item would mean purchasing two bulbs. That turned out to be incorrect. I received half of my intended purchase.

The parking bulbs might be considered bright, but only at their focal point. They form a "target" (dot in middle surrounded by halo) which would prove wuite ineffective. This guy has other types but I think this one would be the best for this type of application.

Silver vision bulbs that are supposed to light up hyper white lit up plain white and was not nearly bright enough.

Silver vision bulbs that light up amber did not seem to fit in my rear turn signal indicator socket. There was no way I was going to try them out in the front turn signals as that is much more work than I wanted to get involved with on Tuesday evening knowing full well that I would not be able to complete a full job (both sides). I sent an email asking if the seller knows of the right bulb size for this application. Will update upon delivery of email.

P.S. sorry I couldn't take any pics. I don't own a digital camera as of yet.

Anybody know the correct bulb size for the 350Z's rear turn signals? I can't find it anywhere and even the guy from superlumination (where I got my bulbs from) doesn't know. I tried to find a size indicator on our stock bulbs to no luck.

350zluvr, are you saying the 7440 silver/amber bulbs don't fit in the turn signal as a replacement?

I tried the 7443 size because they are the same size as 7440 only they have dual metal strips on both sides of the plug. The two strips on both sides allow the bulbs to light up at a lower intensity and also at higher level (like brake lights). The seller even noted on his website that if the buyer does not specify whether they want 7440 or 7443, that he will send the 7443 size since they will fit the 7440 socket but will also carry extra potential.

Default EVOstyle.com

I thought someone would give up their source by now, but since nobody has, I guess I should....

Evostyle (www.evostyle.com) EVOvision chrome turn signal bulbs!

I've had their bulbs in my Z for three months with no hitch. A couple of us Z owners bought them together and I don't think anybody has had any problems (that I have heard of). It took a bit to install, but damn do they clean up the front end.

This is after having gone through two sets of bulbs painted with high-temperature silver engine enamel (off of ebay) which turned yellowish-brown and peeled after 4 months. Those were ugly anyway and looked so damn cheap with that flat finish.

Anyway, I think they still have an "Evoset" for the 350Z, but you'll have to check around.

Next step is to clean up the side orange reflector in the headlight - anyone know how to remove it (if at all possible)?

I'm sorry I was wearing a red shirt. Guess the housing caught a reflection. I replaced it with another shot.

Are you sure they are model number 7443 (dual filament)?
I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be the single filament 7440's...

This is the model number I got off my package, maybe you can use either one. I installed the bulbs and they work fine. They are a little more of a deeper orange, kinda matchs the amber strip on the side of the headlamp. I also did notice that the light is not as bright as OEM.

Interesting, so do your signal bulbs stay illuminated with a dim amber light shining when your headlights are on? <-means they are dual filament=7443

Or do they only come on with the blinker signal?<-means they are single filament=7440

BTW, how long have you had those APC ones in?
