Default hid bulb replacement?

I just bought a 04 350z yesterday that already has hid headlights on it. When I was driving it last night I noticed one of the headlights is not working right. The small lights are working but the main light is not. Can you get bulbs for these or will I have to replace the hole light?

Of course you can replace a bulb, if that's the problem. It will be a D2R or D2S, depending on which headlight assemblies your car actually has (proper '04, or perhaps upgrades to the '06+ style).

Avoid cheap Chinese-made knock-offs, and look for a pair (yes, you usually want to buy a pair) from Philips, Sylvania, or Osram. Also, OEM color temp, 4300K to 5000K, will provide the most output. Amazon.com is a good source, for a bit less than $100/pair.

Since you have 04 headlights, replace with a D2R bulb. It's made for that housing.

EDIT
Btw, I would go ahead and buy a pair. Might as well replace them both.

AND remember, 4300K is stock. Highest bulb temperature I'd go is 6K. Beyond that is ricerville.

Noticed this and ran into a problem.i made sure both light bulbs were hid. Left side all good right had a regular non hid bulb looked for a ballast that attaches to bottom of headlight and nothing there.idk why that was done.but do does anyone know the process to remove the hid and put a non hid bulb does anything have to be cut .basically asking this so i can reverse tje process and put the hid back on that headlight..???oh and its 03 touring roadster .i think its factory hid.
