Default Confused more and more…

I’m so ready to by the front lip (half spoiler) but the more I read on it the more I get confused on which one to get. I’m deciding between two. The one by C-West or the one by VeilSide. Pretty simple so far, right?
Now, for the confusing part. Some people say that FRP is as good as Urethane as long as it is from the reputable company. Others say that no meter what, do not get FRP as it will crack. Then there is the painting problem…One is better then the other and vise versa. The prep work. The fitment issues…and on and on…
My question is:
What would be the best choice money wise, in a long run (longevity, money paid for prep work and install, etc) between the two lips mentioned above? Any help would be appreciated as I’m in the tunnel and looking for a way out.

FRP is more likely to crack from what I know, its also the easiest to fix...

i suggust you to get the urethane as it is more durable in the long run especially if the z is your daily driver.

i have the veilside version 1 lip in urethane. its painted and installed. lip was $285. painting was $150 and i installed it myself. it looks nice without any problems.

mgl......I saw in another thread that you installed your lip yourself. You mentioned that there were two screws on each side and double sided tape in the middle.

Did the two screw holes on each side of your lip line up with the already existing bolts that are under each side of the front bumper, or did you have to drill new holes on each side?

Thanks in advance for your response. I really like the way the Veilside lip looks on your car and am thinking of getting one soon. Did you ever figure out what to do with your front plate? Did you leave it "European" style?

the 2 screw holes underneath do indeed line up with the factory bumper mounting holes. So he veilside lip spoiler will hang down only as far as the thickness of the spoiler, about 1/8". There is also a hole at each end in the fenderwell that you can use a small set screw to further secure the lip.

edit: actually it hangs about 1/2" lower probably, as the mounting holes aren't flush with the bottom of the lip.

Thanks for the info. Now all I have to do is find a good place to buy the Veilside lip at a reasonable price.

Hey 2003Z!
Who painted the lip and the spoiler for you and how is the finish on them?

You could get the C-West Carbon Fiber and you would not have to paint it.
