Headlight restoration Question
I just did the Meguiars headlight restoration and it's not as complete as I thought it would be. Any ideas on something more? I was thinking about trying a clear adhesive headlight cover over it. I'm just not sure if it would look better. Anyone have any experience with this?

What's the problem you're having? Were your results not good enough, or are you talking about continued protection?
For what it's worth, I used the Mother's restoration kit (just the polish, not the sandpaper)... and it worked great. The problem though, is that it only lasts a few months before the sun begins to yellow them again.
Just this weekend I used the kit again, and they look near perfect again. This time, I applied some "Blue Magic Headlight Lens Sealer" that I got from amazon... to see if it will help make the results last. We'll see in a few months I guess.

I just restored my headlights and clear coated them, they still look good a year later.

The best way is to sand them down with 2k grit paper. Clean them with soap and water and then alcohol.
Then shoot them with a couple coats of clear laquer, wet sand it smooth with more 2k grit paper and then buff them with polishing compound.
Then if you really want to protect all the work you just did, cover them with clear vinyl.

Thanks for all the good advise. I tried the sandpaper, and it's better, but I think my biggest fear is that it's going to fog up and get yellow/grey in a month or two. I ordered some clear headlight covers, hoping they slow down the fogging. I just want them to look nice again without going to the dealer and buying new headlights.
Thanks so much!
