Hi all,
I bought my Z used and it has HIDs. How do I know if they're stock HID's or they are aftermarket? Thanks for your time.

 

The bulbs or the entire system?

 

The entire system.

 

Peel back your fender liner and look under your headlight. Here is what the OEM HID ballast looks like; screwed in under the headlight assembly.


Anything else and it's aftermarket.

 

Thanks for the info. I will be checking that out. So is it possible to take the ballast off and install it on a aftermarket black/smoked headlight assembly? Reason being I'm getting water inside of them and one of the bulbs went out.

 

I'm pretty sure there's a few threads about putting HIDs on "eBay" headlights, check the Tech/Exterior or DIY/Lighting sections.
