installed new leather seat covers, pics...
They were a major pain in the arss to install. paid $400 full leather but much harder than others I have done in the past. I did three vettes prior to this and these were much harder to do. They will tighten up if I park the car in the sun for a few days, so over all i am happy. The original leather seat were very nice, but the drivers seat was bad, so I went with the two tone seat covers.

Looks great with the frost interior!
I used a heat gun (moving back and forth rapidly) to tighten up the last remaining wrinkles that didn't come out from sitting in the sun (although most did).

Vender on ebay. He sells the fake leather for $220 and the real leather for $400. They come from China I think, but the vender is out of Michigan. Don't go by his color chart on the leather seats. The pics look nothing like the real color of the sandstone. I ordered the black and sandstone first, got them and they did not match, sent them back and went with the light gray and black. Turn around for a set is about 3 weeks, they make them when you order them. As for the heated seats, yes I have heated seats, but I live at the beach, never used them but I did transfere the heat eliments over from the original leather. Had to cut them out because they are stiched in. Big pain in the arss. I did not even connect them back, left the connector unplugged under the seat. Hell, I got tired of hitting the button with my arm and trning on the heated seats before. Now, no problem.
Thanks for all the
Thanks for all the
The wrinkles, even small ones would drive me nuts.
Does not matter auto, house, convert top,the seams
got to be straight&tight and the material the same.
Props on the work you have done.I'd rather pay top dollar
to have a shop do the work.
Just sayin...

Of course they will have wrinkles, but leather and heat work together. A few days in the sun and they will tighten up. I have replaced leather skins on 3 prior vettes and they all had wrinkles at first. After sitting in the sun, the car will heat up and the leather will tighten up. They have already tighten up with just one day of 70 dgree weather. I will post picks in a few weeks. Here is a pick of the last vette I had after I replaced the leather skins.
Some of the negative comments on your leather install are from guys
(incl myself)that would not attempt this job on their own.Again,my
compliments. Some of us have expertise in diferent areas.Mine is design,
bodywork etc. However,on the kit you purchased,my only direct
experience on a kit&install were seat leather replacements for a Jaguar
I owned.Ordered a set made out of the original Connoly leather. They
came rolled up in a box.I paid through the nose...Had e'm pro installed.
Looked better than original. Not ONE wrinkle, seams perfectly straight.
I think its you get what you pay for. Also,I'd have a problem with the gray
match in the seats with your frost interior. It clashes.Should have gone
all black IMO if the gray could not be a perfect match. This will be
a factor if you ever sell your car.

My seats are just about shot, Ive been putting off recovering them. I'm going with a set from leatherseats.com, they're a bit more expensive than those but look real good. A friend of mine bought some for his ride and they were real high quality. I don't have the patience to install them my self, I'm having the convertible top replaced at the same time and he is doing them at a discount. If money only did grow on trees...
i open these seat cover threads to feel better about my own seats lol.
Ive never been a fan of covers... but i also dont expect everyone to validate spending over a grand on leather for 2 seats and still have to pay for labor.
The vette's kit look decent.. hopefully your Z install will follow suit.
