Making a duckbill wing out of the evo-r type III spoiler?
This pic makes me think about something. The evo-r type III wing... I wonder how hard it would be to take it, raise the rear with fiberglass and make a duckbill type wing using it as a base to build on? I know carbon signal made a duckbill but the thread was closed since they aren't a vendor and this is the only spoiler close enough to what they had.
I mean how hard could it be? -Jeremy Clarkson

It would,nt be hard if you are creative.
I've always had a knack for taking parts that were meant for one car and
finding a way to fabricate them to fit another car.Possibly this is due for me
because I came from the car "customization" era. There were not many if any
aftermarket body parts available. The top custom guys of that time took parts
off other cars that were in the right proportions, added or subtracted some metal,
and welded it on the car.Much of "what worked"was shared in the car mags.
For example, had a 57' Ford. The front lower bumper trim off a early Studebaker
would fit almost exactly on the Ford giving a scoop type finish after you dropped the front bumper. There were tons of old Studes in the junkyards.
At any rate, what I would do is find a small spoiler that can be mounted on top
of your Blitz type spoiler. You just have to work out the right dimensions needed.
More than likely, the spoiler will be fiberglass. It would be easy to graft it onto
to your spoiler and blend it in.I've done this several times with different components.
If you go this route,it would be wise to design the app on the car. But,remove your
spoiler to do the actual "surgery".I'd think you would have some added weight,
meaning an upgrade of rear strut dampers for your rear deck.
Personally,if I was doing this project,I'd put horizontal slots in the donor spoiler part.
Sort of what is on a Mustang(you may find a Mustang spoiler that can be modded
for this use?).I think the slots would give the rear of your car a unique look.It would also "lower" the back of the car and make it look less bulky.Since I do design for a living,I'm always thinking...lol.Why do
something that has been done before with the plain duck bill?
