Default My Exterior/Interior Build Thread

Here's the story. I bought the car from a guy who was in the army. It had been sitting for a year or so. Along came a pretty bad storm and long story short, a tree limb smacked the passenger side of the car. It broke the a-pillar molding, dented the actual apillar, dented the roof slightly, smashed the windshield, and whacked off the passenger mirror.

Pics below...

So i fixed the windshield first. And ran out of money to do much of anything else.

A year later I'm backing out of a parking spot and a lady in a huge *** van smacks me right in the rear of the car. Rear bumper is done for, damage to the hatch, rear tail lights cracked, ect ect. Damage shown below.
On top of all this, the window motors are going out, the interior is a mess, blah blah. You get where I'm going with this.

Well, I'm finally got enough money, time, patience, and help to get her fixed. I'm attempting to fix everything by myself with the help of some friends. So here we go!

Here's the damage and what I started out with.

Rear:

Apillar/Apillar molding:

Mirror:

Tails:

More to come...

And here's where i got last weekend.

Front test fit:

A small crack from shipping... we will be fiberslassing her back to tip top shape though.

The sides getting test fitted:

And the rear test fit:

Need to adjust the exhaust a bit...

These came with the rear bumper. Are these supports for the outside of the bumper or are they to keep the exhaust off the bumper?

So far I'd say the front is a 9/10 fit, the sides where a 8/10, and the rear was a 8.5/10. The front crack is minor and we are going to fix that up. The rear is a good fit surprisingly. Though it does need some foam where the rear fender wells are to line up just right. Input and suggestions are welcome!

The "weave" direction on the cubby door would drive my OCD insane.

Nice! Should look really nice once completed.. Have any plans for aftermarket wheels since you are adding the aggressive kit?

I hope everything turns out well. I haven't ever done this and have been researching DIY and how to's for months. So, I'm always taking suggestions if you guys see anything.

As for wheels, defiantly. Though my budget wont be more than 1,200 for wheels. And this is my daily just so everyone knows.

Will keep you guys posted!

Good work, although I'm not a fan of "CF" wrap.Redo the cubby door.
The twill pattern does not match. This would drive me nuts.

Remember to reset the window motors computer when you put them in and use grease. The motors will last so much longer and you won't have to worry about the window going all the way up and then half way down when you do the auto up.

Will do, there's a pretty good DYI on here so I'm going to follow that. Thanks for the heads up!

Plans are for the birds. I want alot of different things, but we will see where it goes. I'd like a louder exhaust for instance, but i already have an APS 2.5" true dual. Maybe some coilovers in the future... idk but for now I have plenty to do.
