New racing stripes...Pics inside!
The iconic racing stripe is surely one of America’s greatest gifts the automotive world and the origins were not born of the moonshine’ era or out of the muscle car heyday. Back in the quaint days of yesteryear, racecars in international competition were assigned a color dependent on the home country of the team. Italy was red, Germany was silver, USA was white with a blue trim. Briggs Cunningham, bon vivant, mega yacht racer, racecar driver, team owner, car constructor extraordinaire was super popular on the Le Mans circuit in the late 40s and early 50s. Hating the idea of slopping an extra ½ pound of blue paint on his bevy of brilliant lightweight Cunningham sports-racing cars he conceived the use of two centerline-racing stripes. This put the slightly heavier two-tone paint job to a practical use. A driver spinning the car on a corner exit could sight down the longitudinal stripes to quickly get the car reoriented to the track, thus saving precious time. For many years this style of striping was referred to as Le Mans stripes. So whether or not it suits your taste, this style of racing stripe has proper sports car provenance.

Who made a law that reads only mustangs and camaros can have stripes???That is stupid! If we all had, say black cars, life would be borring. I want a car that looks different than every other z out there. If you don't like stripes, then don't put them on your car. I had three mustangs over the years and guess what, no stripes on any of them. two of my 7 vettes I had did have stripes, the other 5 did not. When the no stripes on z cars law comes into affect, I will remove them.....

Im starting to think you should have stuck with your mustangs and put stripes on that

There are a million other ways to customize cars, but you will definitely be one of the few with stripes on a Z. Things that just dont fit Z's stripes and hood scoops (you tube guy) but it is your car and if you like the stripes then keep them, but dont be surprised by constant flaming thats all.
Its nothing personal mr. grumpy pants riding low
This is not an argument. Your stripes look stupid and you don't ride low. You're trying to mix domestic styles on a JDM car. Not only does it not work, it's completely sacrilegious to both car communities.
And true this is not an argument, because it's not your car, so you can not win an argument that you have no control over....

Classic racing stripes sweep from front to back of the car. Even though the windshield and the back window interrupt them, your eye can seamlessly jump from the hood or rear deck to the corresponding stripes on the roof to perceive a continuous line. Your placement of the irregular shaped decal in the rear window distracts the eye from this. Consider moving it to somewhere else (maybe some other car), Also if you can live without the big 350Z letters on the windshield, it will help make the stripes flow better.
Remember less is more! Next time you are in a gathering of casually dressed people, look at the men with (stupid) sports logos. My fashion rule for gentlemen is only one logo per outfit. Either on the hat or on the shirt, but please no mismatched logos on jacket, slacks and hat.

Looks like crap, especially with "350Z" displayed across the top of the windshield.
"Racing stripes" don't belong on Japanese road cars, IMO.

It's pretty clear that "some" of the members here on the z forum are much more immature than what I am used to on the vette forum. "some" of you guys need to grown up! If you don't like something a member has done to their car, say so, say why, but stop acting like an immature child! If you don't understand this, wait until you are older and you will probably realize what I just said!.
At the end of day it's your Z...do you like it? Wow , abarclay , saywat?, phenom...others ...you really wanna be taken seriously? Don't post comments that sound like your 14...duh ..Stripes don't belong on Porches , Miatas, S2000's,Sky's , Crossfires...pick a sport car. Opinion's are like a** holes and there are a lot of those in this forum..........you like , that's all that matters.....
