you need a set of matsushita ballast/ignitors:

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...roducts_id=147

oem nissan is genIII matushita but TRS has confirmed that the genV ballasts/ignitors are compatible with cars that use the previous gens. i'm not sure if the screws for mounting the ballasts are included with either the depos or the ballasts so you may hafta find some that will work.

a set of d2s bulbs:

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=1250

And you'll have to decide what you want to do about the headlight-to-car connector:
The 03-05 NON HID uses a 6 pin connector. The 03-05 HID and 06-08 (all models) uses an 8 pin connector. Therefore the depos come with an 8 pin connector while your car still has a 6 pin. This is why going from 03-05 HID to 06-08 is fairly straight forward, but coming from 03-05 NON-HID is not.

Option 1:
You could take the 6 pin socket off your old lights, remove the 8 pin socket from the depos, and rewire them using the 6 pin socket so you can plug right up to your car.

Option 2:
Another option would be to source an 8 pin socket (car side) and replace the 6 pin on your CAR.

Option 3:
A 3rd option would be to remove the 8 pin from the depo's and the 6 pin from your car and use an alternative means of connecting the two (individual connections, a generic multi-pin socket, etc).

That's about it. I think the depos come with the lower parking light and turn signal bulb. If not, the lower parking light bulbs are the same between model years but the turn signal bulb is slightly different.

How does one go about removing the glass/plastic cover in order to get to the lense?

idk man all the documentation from Nissan distinguishes halogen as 6 pin and HID as 8 pin. Gonna have to manually figure out all your pin connections. Are you the original owner of the car?

Ill figure it out... hopefully.. and I am not the original owner, but no signs of anyone messing with things..

Just to make sure.. I have TCS, Cruise Control, Auto Dim mirror, alluminum pedals, but no VDC and no audio steering wheel buttons this would mean I have an enthusiast model? which comes with HIDS?

None of my local stores carry 3157A turn signal bulbs. The only thing they have is 3457A. Same socket but slightly higher output. Anybody have experience running the 3457A bulbs?

If I wanted to repaint the shroud, how would I go about keeping the side "stripes" clear? Do you mask them off or paint the whole thing and sand it clear again after? Seems kinda tricky to mask properly or to sand..

I just got my pair of Depo headlights. Probably the best 320$ my 350z has seen so far. The sheer design of the headlights is very impressive. I was expecting a cheap piece of plastic. They are of great build quality. Fitment was nothing less than perfect. And the look of these headlights is GREAT! As far as the optics of the headlights. I'm a bulb fanatic. I have concurred a few retrofits before (fxr-3.0/Morimoto H1's) ect.. If you are coming from 03-05 HID this is a fantastic upgrade for you if you would like a sharp colorful cutoff. If you are coming from 06 its a slight downgrade and I would not recommend it. Its more of a cosmetic change as the intensity of the Depo lamps are not as intense as 06 projectors. For about 100$ you could buy paint for the housing's and a pair of STI-R lenses from TRS and you would have a dope setup. Just my 2 cents! BTW pictures do not give these things justice on here. The color above the cutoff is amazing and the spread of the beam is very even. Maybe I got a lucky set? I will take a ton of pics with my Dslr tonight and post for you guys.

Default grounding wire

I have an 04' 350z. I want to purchase the the 06+ Depo headlight but I know that the 03-05 have a grounding wire and this is for a 06+. Before I purchase, does anyone know if there is somewhere I can adequately ground my ballast? I don't want to spend another $80 or so on a new ballast.

Hey bud. The Depo Headlights actually have a grounding bracket just above the rear of the projector. after attaching the OEM ignitor to the bulb. the bracket actually rests on the metal of the ignitor to ground it.. I know this because I was halfway through rigging up the stock ground out of my 03' lights when I noticed it.
