Depo 06+ style headlights and other aftermarket headlights thread
Ok so i recently got some repo headlights these actually https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...eadlights.html and well I never had anything other than the 03 HIDs. I know I need some D2S bulbs and I've been looking for some and then I was about to order these Morimoto 3five 5K ones from the TRS and they state on it not for Nissan/infiniti oem ballast?? I am a little confuse don't all D2S bulbs have the same socket/housing? I just don't want to buy these and find out they will 100% not work.
I read this entire thread, my only question is why these d2s bulbs are not compatible with nissans? Not sure why it got moved into this thread but if someone has the answer that would be great.
They told me the same thing, below is what they sent me:
Hi Darren
Thanks for your inquiry and patience waiting on a response here. Your older 350Z requires the D2R bulbs, but because the stock ballasts don't like aftermarket bulbs, we recommend only OEM bulbs. We don't sell these currently, but I would look for the Philips 85126+ D2R bulbs.
Please let us know if we can answer any other questions or be of any additional assistance.
Thanks again Darren!

I just ended up getting lights from JDM toy they have worked great so far.

D2R is for the 03-05 housings. D2S is for 06+. It only describes the base and plug style.
The only difference in D2R and D2S is the location of the little half circle notch. D2R is on the left of the square notch, D2S is on the right.
D2C is the same and has a notch on both sides to work in either housing.
I believe D2R's have the tip coated for use in non projector housings.
And I don't believe Andrew. I have DDM 6000K bulbs in my 06+ housings and they are working perfectly fine.

ok for everyone who has swapped over there 03 style HID ballast I have a question. So the 03-05 ballast houses a D2R bulb. The 06 and newer and these DEPO blacked out one which I bought use D2S. So when I go to swap my old Ballast into these new lights how does the D2S bulb fit into the female plug where the D2R used to be?
I'm sorry if this question has been asked in this thread. I don't recall reading it anywhere but I could've missed it in the 29 pages. All I need to know is how the a D2S bulb fit into the D2R slot? If you wish to direct to another thread that has that information that would great. I have searched google and this site trying to get everything correct for getting these lights installed and I have most of the information but just need some final details is all.
hey if anyone is trying to get these for about 50 dollars cheaper I looked up the actual item number and found a website that sells them for 261 plus shipping. No picture but its the same part and at the bottom it shows a picture of the ebay lights. Located in cali. http://www.justparts.com/Auto_Parts/...l-Set/23595094

This.
Just wanted to update people on my condensation problem . I woke up to this today and guess what it hasn't gotten any better . Yes it was humid today but by now it should have gotten a little clearer and nope. I'm thinking of just laying a bad of silicone around the existing bead , not really trying to dismantle the whole headlight. Any ideas ore thoughts?
Nolagg, I noticed someone back in the thread (might have been you, if so.. sorry) found that they needed to seal the back of one plug... did you try that?
