I did my swap over the weekend. Everything explained above is accurate. It really wasn't that bad of an install and as stated above the hardest thing is removing the front bumper. These lights really make an 03 car look up to date. I will get pics soon, but it is snowing ***** here today.

Finally got my car back and did the swap yesterday. Here are some before and after shots of my Depo headlights with STi-R lenses:

I noticed that there's a strip of 4 little orange lights on the outside edge of each headlight. Only my driver's side works for some reason. All main bulbs work, but just not this little strip on the passenger side. There's no replaceable bulb for this strip either.

anyone put eyelids on these? I know the majority of users on this forum despise them but I feel that it's easier to pull off with a blacked out headlight housing

Those are LED's.

Bad news is you get to pull your bumper off and pull the housings out. Check in it as best you can for loose connections.

Check your main plug to see if any of the pins are bent/wires loose in it.

If there is a wiring diagram around (I'm sure there is) you can use some test wires to put power to that circuit to see if you can make it light.

If the board is dead the LED's are on you can open it up and replace them or you can email the seller and throw a **** fit.

I'd do all the testing I could before sending them back though.

You can also clip the wire on the driver side so they wont light up either. Then nobody but Z owners would know.

I really don't like the look of these LEDs anyway and would like to disable the driver's side. Is this the blue wire that most people are clipping?

Thanks for the good info.

Nosir. The blue wire is for the DRL's (running the turn signal bulb all the time, then flashing it brighter when you activate the turn signal.)

I don't know which wire goes to the marker down at the main plug. I would pull the cap off the back where you access the main headlight bulb at, fish around in there and pull the harness out, then clip the wire and tape it off if it doesn't unplug.

I can't remember for sure, the harness may be on the outside to them.

Either way, you get what I mean.

Clip it in a spot where it is repairable if needed, then plug it in and test it before reassembling the car.

So I read through most of this entire thread and still unsure of what to do?

I have an 03 HID. Do I buy the Depo 06 headlights, and then the bulbs of my choice from retrofitsource? Are there install instructions that come with these? Why do I hear some people cutting the blue wire, and other not? What is this?

On all pictures i see the manual adjustment but mine has motors on it and i am wondering if the manual adjustment can be replaced with the motors?

You can get the bulbs from anywhere. Buy the housings, put the new bulbs in (you will need new turn signals), pull the old ones out, put the new ones in, adjust, done.

Blue wire is power for the DRL. If you want a DRL leave it. If you don't, cut it or remove it from the connector like I did.

Read the thread if you want more info.

The 06+ has a dual filament turn signal bulb. It burns the dim one all the time and the turn signal flashes the bright one.

So just imagine the turn signals on all the time and there's your DRL.

Clear cover?
I've got an '07 gran touring, i've been told that the european versions all come with the automatic adjustment motors, i am struggling to find a replacement for my damaged passenger side headlight unit.
The (most likely ) US version headlight i have at the moment is with manual adjustment and for some reason the indicator fitting does not fit, the fitting is smaller then the hole in the housing.
