Thank you very much! I get them tomorrow so I may throw them in tomorrow. Anyone run generic d2s bulbs ? I don't feel like spending 150 on Phillips bulbs

Well, got my lights today, and the passenger side is missing that black cover over the led strip up top. Hopefully this doesn't end up as a major deal breaker.

Just type 350z depo light and you'll find them on eBay

Edit: I just looked last night and they were there, none are listed right now.

Exclamation problem?

i was taking apart my depo's in prep for a few mods and noticed this possible monstrosity of a problem in the chrome of the reflector bowls. the left isn't nearly as bad as the right, but will this be a problem or does anyone know of a quick fix for this?

Default Q's about installing Depo headlights on a 07 !!

Ordered me a set of the blacked out depo's today and seen it saying it doesn't come with the bulbs or ballast. I have the stock headlights and setup on my 07.

Question is, is all I need to hook up the depo's already in my stock headlights ?
Will the ballast and all the bulbs fit into the depo's, or am I gonna have to order new bulbs and ballast ?

Also considering going with a brighter bulb, any output on that ?

if it were me.... here is what i would do in your instance... put on the depos, and then find someone to crack open and paint your oem's. you will have a better output with them. after you get your painted oem's back, offload the depo ones, they will sell fast

Yes. You just gotta pull out the ballast and bulbs out of your OEM's and they'll plug right into the depos. You don't have to worry about annoying wiring or anything like that. It should be pretty simple and straight forward.

Thanks for the reply, another question, sorry I'm such a newb about headlights, I just don't wanna mess anything up.

Do you think it'd do good to get new hid bulbs that's alil brighter ?
I guess it's all up to me but is there a certain size bulb that specifically fits into the housing ?

Honestly I didn't notice a difference in brightness between OEM to DEPO, and I had the STI-r lenses on my OEM ones and not on my depo ones. Not saying the output was the same but it wasn't a drastic enough difference for me to notice so, take that how you will.

Personally I'm not a pro on headlights either, however if I remember correctly the bulbs for HID's are D2S.

Very interested in doing the setup.

Got a question on it though as i couldn't find any reference from previous threads. When i bought my 03-05 base the owner retrofit'd some ddm tunning HID on the stock non-hid headlights. How much modification will i need to do if i use my existing HID kit on the car? can i reuse the same harness?

I checked around other 350z reference forums some members state i can use the 03-05 harness with my after market hid kit, but i would like to hear those who use the aftermarket hid kits on these.

Thanks in advance for any inputs!

You can't reuse anything from an aftermarket HID retrofit kit. The ballasts, bulbs, and igniters are all not compatible with the stock HID system.

You can buy oem compatible bulbs/ballasts/igniters from www.theretrofitsource.com for a reasonable price (along with STi lenses if you plan on upgrading).

Yes, you can use your current HID ballast , simply drill some new holes and get a AMP to D2S adapter...however you will still need an OEM HID Ballast to cover the giant hole in the bottom and a new set of D2S Bulbs ..its kinda pointless to use an aftermarket HID setup at this point.
If I were you, just get the OEM Ballasts and D2S bulbs....
