Question On My New Roadster
Just bought a 2007 enthusiast, red with black interior and only 18k miles. First question, the body piece that opens then let's out the top then closes, mine has a manufactured hole in the center with a rubber piece that kind of covers the hole from the inside. I can put a couple finger in and feel something in there. Anyone know what I am talking about, is it supposed to be there?
Ps, this car has an autocheck rating of 92 which I here is good. Bought from the orig owner, car put in service in March 2008. All original.
I need some new tires. Want comfort and long lasting most of all, and not expensive. Looking for recommendations, Firestone, Bridgestone?
Look forward to posting in here.

Roadmax, the (top) storage hatch cover incorporates a latch in the center that reaches up and secures the back of the top when it is in the up position. You are describing the slot from which it deploys.
The 350Z is engineered to run tires of the Y speed rating. These tires are expensive, wear out quickly, are noisy, give a rough ride and sports car enthuses love them dearly for the ultimate performance. If you can live with a little less of all the above, look for a high performance all season tire with a W speed rating. One of the more moderately priced is the Bridgestone RE960. Michelin and Continental also make excellent high performance all seasons.

Will be closing the purchase Monday or Tuesday and will post pics soon. Think it is a cream puff for sure.
Thanks for the description of the hole, whew, thought I had to worry about something!
Thanks for the tirerack comment, will look there. Thanks for the Bridgestone tire, I am not looking for any super tire, just one that will last a long time and not be noisy, will be as comfortable as possible.
One last thing, I have to reset the passenger window apparently. When you auto up the window, it goes to the top then retreats a couple inches. Any comment you'all? Thanks.

This is a not uncommon occurrence on 350Zs as well as some Toyota, Chrysler and other cars that use the same anti-pinch mechanism for the power windows. The situation is that a window will operate normally if the switch is manually held to lift the window. However if the automatic close function is used the window will rise to the top, think its pinching some hapless child’s finger and will promptly reverse and lower the window a few inches. Use the search function here to take apart the door panel and locate the reset button on the window motor and instructions for its use.
My Roadster decided to pull this shenanigans on me once. Instead of using the buried reset button to teach my errant 04 Z to behave properly, I used this procedure that works for many cars with this same system. Simply raise the window using the manual position on the switch, (not the auto close position) hold the switch on for an extra 3 or 4seconds after the window has closed. Then lower the window to the bottom, again holding the switch on for an extra few seconds. Repeat this cycle three more times. After this, the auto close function should return to proper operation.
