Default veilside v1

What is your opinions of this bodykit? I like it and its not to expensive.
and it doesnt change the cars look to much like v2 and v3 does.

Also how is the quality of the bodykit? I would be getting it in Urethane.

Thanks for any opinions on this kit

Hi,

I agree with you. As you can see from the photo I bought the Veilside V1 lip and wing from MVP Motorsports for a good price. I do not really like the Veilside V1 sides so I bought the NISMO sides from Performance Nissan. I am happy with the results. Tad

Ya the Sides are last on my list. What about the rear bumper skirt thingy?

I was thinking about getting that and the front lip and waiting on the side skirts. You think that would look weird?

350ZOWNZ,

The fit and quality of the Veilside urethane lip and fibeglass rear wing were outstanding. The NISMO sides from Performance Nissan needed some extra prep work before painting but came out fine. Tad

For starters I did buy the front lip only and I painted and installed it myself. The lip took 10 minutes to install with 3M double sides tape (after painting) and lined right up with the existing screws. I had the front and rear splash gaurds and it looked fine

The side skirts were only $140 a piece plus shipping, so I had the rear wing and side skirts done at one time so the paint would match and I would not have to put the Z in the paint shop twice.

So to answer your question...I think the front and rear for now would be ok looking...but with the sides being so inexpensive...why not do it all at the same time....Tad

Exactly how functional are the V1 wing and lip? I like the way they look but at high speed will they either:

1) Provide a nice amount of downforce keeping the car planted?
2) Rip away and nail the car behind me?

I bought the kit with that in mind (car planted). I am moving to Germany in April and I will get plenty of extended high speed driving on the Autobahns. The V1 rear wing is adjustable to a relatively flat (my current setting) or you can put it at what looks to be about a 30 degree angle rear high setting for increased downforce.

Last weekend, early in the morning, I got up and went driving...I got the car up to 130mph for a few minutes on the empty interstate. It felt very planted. Which is what I want. The front and rear, lip and wing, are bolted in place augmented by 3M double side car molding tape. If it does fly off in Germany I'll let you know. Tad

I read a review somewhere on here where someone said the rear wing fell apart at high speeds. Could've been a bad mold, but anyway, just came to mind.

Tad, I can't get over how good your setup looks.

Default Veilside v1 Where I bought it.

Hi,

I bought the lip for $255 plus shipment and the wing for $666 from MVP Motorsports out of Texas. They had the best price on the front wing that I could find. It took about 5 days to get it to Maryland. I listed the contact info below. Tad

ZXSaint,

Wow, thats kind of scary to think about...I sure would hate to think of what could happen to somebody behind me if the wing ever breaks up. I thought the person that had replied that it could break apart was just playing Devil's advocate...now, I'm more open to the possibility, if it has happened to someone else already. I am definately going to inspect it frequently and drive slower here in the States.

Hopefully it stay together on the Autobahn...only time will tell. You can bet I'll post up if it falls apart. Thanks again for the compliments on the setup! Tad

Default V1 kit

I have both the front V1 lip and V1 rear under spoiler. Here's a good shot of the rear.

Arvin,

I had the same feeling waiting for mine. your Z will look good when its done, especially with the wheels you have. Post some pictures when you're done.

Thanks for the compliments...now if it would only quit snowing so I can start driving the Z again. Tad

tad, how much lower will the V1 Lip have when it's installed onto the car? I am afraid of scraping the front since my car is lowered with Eibach (1") drop.

Thanks.

Apexi350Z,
I measured the ground clearance right before and after the front wheels.

They're almost even. The Veilside V1 front lip was 4 inches off the ground, measured in front of the front wheels. I also measured the very front, middle of the lip and it was 3 and 3/4s inces off the ground.

The NISMO side skirts are 4 and 3/4s inches off the ground, measured right behind the front wheels . This is with stock suspension. Tad

Cool -

Good luck in Germany, beware the winter weather if you're going soon (better invest in a set of snow tyres & steel rims) - I was in Germany (just to the South of the Dutch Border) last week & the snow was on & off - not good Z weather

Thanks Tad.. so if you have to guess, how much lower will the lip add to the car? 1" or more?

Thanks..
