Default 06-08 Headlights with a CF twist

I recently decided to paint my housings and while I had the headlights apart, I decided to try to add a little flavor to the shrouds. I painted the housings with hi-temp gloss black, followed by curing the paint before reassembly. I left the chrome behind the blinker, around the city light, and in front of the upper LEDs in tact so as to not lose any output for those areas. I then polished the shroud blocks and painted the shrouds a hi-temp silver, which was also cured. Lastly, I wrapped the center of the shroud in 3M CF.

I have been running them like this for a month and so far, the CF wrap is holding up just fine. I really like the look of the lights now. I also finished adding LEDs to the inside of the clear reflectors last week, which I feel goes very nicely with the LED city lights in the headlights.

Looks good.
The CF wrap may hold up to the heat.
I'd of used a thin real CF sheeting(.25mm)
with hi temp backing .This works in engine apps.
Also, has a high temp gloss coat that would give you more depth
in the CF.

I remember someone back in the days did the entire housing with real carbon fiber. Here's a 370z with real carbon.

Good job, I thought when I clicked on the thread that I was going to see something gaudy but was glad to see you kept it subtle

Haha, thanks fellas. Yea, I absolutely want to keep everything in moderation and with class in mind. I had contemplated wrapping the whole housing, but that idea lasted about .5 seconds in my head before I flamed myself for even thinking it, lol.
