Default 10K HIDs

Just got my 10000k HID kit and a new passenger headlight assembly. To be installed tonight. I got the headlight from a company called Depo on Amazon.com for $65. It came with the entire headlight assembly, wiring harness, and all applicable bulbs. Very good deal and a good quality product.

Why 10,000K? I hope it's not for "looks" because your visibility is going to suffer at night.

It is partially for looks but I had 10000k on a couple of my hondas and the visibility is much better than what im dealing with right now, granted the bulbs that are in my 350 are probably really old and cheap and needing replacement anyways.

The higher up you go on the Kelvin scale, the less usable light output you will have.

4300K is the OEM HID temperature for most vehicles and has significantly more light output.

We don't care anything beyond 8000K due to the loss of usable light output at night

It is still brighter than my stock headlights that were in it before. And yes, I have a bright orange 350z with 10000k HID's and painted rims, I am a professional ricer... Not really, I hate the rims, the HID's I like and the orange paint i am ok with but it will be changed to a stock color as soon as I am done with everything else that I am doing to the car.

I prefer 8k, which is what I have on my B13 and I also installed on my fiancé's Camry (both headlights and fogs)

I have driven cars with all the temps and I must say that 10k and 12k are horrendous. I could not see a thing in front of me.

See how it looks after you install it. If it works for you then keep it, if not then go to a lower temp. In the end it is your car and do whatever you want. Let the haters hate.

I guess it depends on how foggy the old headlights were and what type of bulbs it had.

Pretty sure that's not what I said. I said that they are brighter than the bulbs that were in there before which were probably cheap and dim to begin with.

And yes, it is my car and I will do what I want with it

I like 5 and 6k best. 4300k is too yellow for my tastes.

And 10k is obviously best.

but the only thing that would be worse is 12000k... point is, even halogen bulb would be brighter than 10000k bulb... but some before and after picture will definitely shows everyone if it's really an "improvement" as you claimed.

i get it it's your can and you can do whatever you like. but we are just telling you or any other new peeps that comes on here, 10000k bulb sacrifice visibility for nothing which is a bad thing in terms of safety.

If you guys don't carry it, we shouldn't be running it.

I have no idea why people go so aggressive with their bulbs, are you trying to get pulled over?

Nothing more rice than blue lights...

That's your opinion, which you are more than welcome to have. I won't get pulled over in my state, there are people running around with 30000k purple HIDs, nothing more rice than blue lights, how about purple or I have even seen green.

i think you really are not getting it. it's not a matter of opinion that anything above 8000k reduce visibility and shouldn't be used on headlight. that part is a fact.

and it's rice not just because of the color, it's also counter-productive to the system design. pulling out worse examples doesn't magically make getting 10000k bulb a good thing.

Might just be the stupidest post I've ever seen here.
