Default Front Bumper Chin Guard Replacement

I've been using this site for quite awhile now, and you guys helped out a lot. I decided to register and become a part of this wonder full website. Anyways back to my problem.

i scraped the bottom of the front bumper due to a low patch in the road that i didnt see. Now on my front bumper below the grill. There's that little black bumper guard broke its about an inch tall and thick and about 4feet long, does that come with the bumper or can I replace just that part, if so how and what is it called so it called so i can order it

Thanks.

Jesus.

If you're talking about the small "lip" that is a part of the bottom of your front bumper... it's not "an inch tall and thick and about 4feet long"... you literally just described a rectangular prism.

If that small "lip" is in fact what you are talking about... it is part of the front bumper and cannot be removed/replaced. Even at stock height I commonly scrape mine... and it's not like you can actually see it

^^^ That's just the lower grille insert. I hope that is what he's talking about because that's actually an easy fix.. But idk how that would be damaged by a simple low patch in the road without damaging the bumper itself.

Sorry if I'm no explaining it correct, it literally looks like this l_________l it's the _________ black guard underneath the bumper, I scraped it on the low patch and a part of it(not the bumper) snapped, the black piece underneath near the front, and its not the dirt pads either.

4 Feet was probably too long its probably maybe a foot?

It is also not an insert. Like I said it's underneath the bumper you can see it, if you are crouching or far away.

That might be it if that goes underneath the bumper, wish I could blow up the picture.

It's still not clear what you are talking about, honestly. You need to take a picture, circle what you're talking about, and post it.

And the part bealjk posted is not what you are looking for, it is a grille insert that is not underneath the bumper.

I think the OP is talking about the little vertical lip running across the bottom of the front bumper, back a bit from the front edge. My '08 has it, and it has been scraped, mostly from those concrete parking lot dividers when pulling into a space. I say if you can only see it "if you are crouching or far away", not to worry about it.

Yes that's exactly it

Should i not be worried, and just remove the rest of it?

Only some of the cars have that piece, and I think it was part of an aero option upgrade. may have just been on the GT's. I don't think it actually does much, though.

I'd probably just trim/pull the remaining piece off at this point. Looks like you may have also done some damage to the plastic undertray, which encloses the bottom of the engine compartment, too. Not worth buying the OEM piece, if that's the case, but this is a great upgrade:

I think this may have been the first "mod" I did to my '08, and it's still one of my favorites. Looks great, it stiffens up the front end, and it makes oil changes much quicker. I actually bought the prototype, and then upgraded to the newest version, which has some nice detail improvements.

Regards, akocur92: That piece covers (and extends) the molded flange at the bottom of your OEM facia. It uses both existing bolts and supplied clips for installation. Referred to as an "air dam", an underbody aero option.

Pic can be found here (no association with vendor):

You'll need to confirm this is the correct replacement.

Peace.

Thanks for the link - just bought one. I wasn't ever going to replace my scraped one, but for <$50 shipped, why not? Only 1 left.

Hi, dcains: Have one on my '08. Done it's duty, taken a beating. Nice finishing touch. I'm also running the ZSpeed under tray, pleased to get rid of the OEM tupperware version.

Another option for the underbody spoiler can be found here:

http://www.nissanpartswarehouse.com/...subcat3=134360

about half-way down the page.

Listed for "Track" model, different part #. Aware there's a difference but not sure what that may be. Sponsored by Peoria Nissan, vendor has been reliable, no-gouge pricing. Again, no association with seller. Glad the info was of use &

Peace.

I can't guess what the difference might be, as all the bumpers look the same, at least in that area below the car. I'll wait and see what gets delivered, and post some pics.

Thank you Timeltel. i'll order one of those considering it looks weird without it. Even though you can barley see the part.

Dchains thanks for quick responce. I checked the engine splash guard. And thankfully that's not dmagaed. But I might consider replacing it as well.

Got mine yesterday, only took a few minutes to install, and I was already down there for an oil/filter change.

I think that piece got ripped off my bumper a long time ago. My front bumper is a warzone and I'm not even lowered yet.

Courtesy Nissan has it.

1 x FRT CHIN D (K6010-CF40A) = $15.84 + shipping

You might also try a local dealer. Might cost more for the part, but you'd save the shipping.
