Default Fasteners around battery box?

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong subforum!

I swapped out the battery in my 06 z yesterday, and a couple of the retainers were a bit brittle, so they got tossed. I need to grab a few new ones, but there a zillion different sizes it seems.

Does anyone know what size the fasteners/retainers are, around the batter box? (The ones that hold the plastic cowl on, that the battery lid lifts away from)

Sorry if I'm not explaining this correct. If anyone has a chart with all of the OEM parts or anything, that would be awesome too!

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the link, I'm not sure this helps though. I'm looking for something I don't know the name of, and it doesnt seem to fit into any of these major categories.

It's a two piece push in plastic clip. I don't think I have a part number for them, I'll check when I get home though. Just call the parts department at your local Nissan. I can't remember how much they were.

You will learn more by taking that link and seeking the part out. It will help you in the future so you dont make a silly thread about an easy to find part.

also note that there are non oem's that can be had in higher qty for much less per unit

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trks...at=0&_from=R40

just search ebay "nissan plastic clip"

I don't like the kind with the individual fingers. They get brittle and break. I like the other style.

Go to napa and get part number 665-2388.

I keep a bag in the car at all times. Eventually I'll get them all replaced.

Even though I hate GM products those clips are a little more durable. You just need the right tool when taking them out.

The dealerships charge way to much for the retainers, I picked up a box for about $10.00 at a local autobody supply house. They are an exact match: J&T Fasteners, push type retainer, Nissan. Size: head:20mm, length:9mm, hole:8mm, quantity: 15, #01553-09321. Also on the box in very large print is the following numbers: 2288

Why go back with the stock clips? They are just going to break again.....

Get the better design like I posted above and you never have to replace them again.

Just providing information, some people do prefer stock parts for no other reason then the fact that they are stock.

Those GM clips will get weathered also. I've broken plenty when removing sight/splash shields off of various GM vehicles. So they're not necessarily an end to the problem.
