Default Contertible Top Replacement

I own a 2005 Roadster that was recently damaged by ice falling off my neighbors roof. It broke the reaw window and put a small tear in the top. Alot of body damage also that was just recently repaired, actually the shop ended up painting the whole car and it looks amazing.
So... I am trying to find info on getting the top replaced, or doing it myself. I had thought of just replacing the rear window...by designing it myself, or replacing the top myself, buying the top through AutoTops direct.

Has anyone ever replaced the glass without the top?
Can anyone discuss with me how entailed it is to replace the top myself. I am pretty handy and mechanical, but if it is a major job, paying a pro to do it would probably be my choice. I did get an estimate to do it for $1600, but the person wanted the car for 2 weeks. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much

PS: also looking for a company to flash car. I have a full Nismo exhaust, Stillen headers and Nismo intake. It needs to be flashed for sure.
Thanks again so much.

According to the DIY topic on this boards, it's a two day job for inexperienced person. You can literally disassemble and assemble a whole car in two weeks .

Won't your neighbor's insurance pay for the damage to your car?
