Default Tow Hook?

I got a new front bumper cover recently and now the tow hook threaded hole on my '07 is very visable; no louvers to basically hide it like on my stock cover. I could get a black metal or plastic "plug" and it would look much better, OR what do some of you think about getting a good aftermarket tow hook? I see Zs that keep the hooks in place and I think some look pretty cool. That would take care of the hole issue, but don't want to catch Sh*t either haha!

I ride around with this one myself.

Amazon.com: Sparco 01612RS Red Tow Strap: Automotive Amazon.com: Sparco 01612RS Red Tow Strap: Automotive

It isn't overly showey because 9 times out of 10 it is pushed back into the bumper area. You will need to buy your own bolt though. You can get size info online. But for a little less than 20 bucks I am happy.

Thanks, but I would want to utilize the stock threaded tow hook hole. For example, I had even looked at these and others on Amazon there are variety of colors; don't want to spend like $200 for a Moon Face; I'd put a piece of electrical tape over the hole if I had to!

Yep. That is bolted in the stock threaded tow hook hole. I just got the appropriately threaded bolt from Amazon and bolted it in. There are 3 different sized bolts oddly enough depending on year. A quick search here will net your correct size.

16mm x 45mm Class 10.9 Flange Bolt (2 pieces): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific 16mm x 45mm Class 10.9 Flange Bolt (2 pieces): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

I see now how that works, thanks. Yeah I think '03-'04 are 16mm, '05-'08 are 22mm.

I would cover it and hit it with some black paint. I know I was adamant about not getting a tow hook until I went to the track. I would remove mine in between track days if it didn't look so cool (and if I didn't have to take the bumper off to get it off!)

I can't remember the brand. I know it's not some big name expensive one. I don't think I track hard enough to NEED a legit tow hook. I used the OEM one for the first track day I went to but took it off since it sat like / and rubbed on the underside of the bumper.....

Here is a picture of my tow hook.

Looks like it's the AutoTecknic tow hook. I agree about removing the tow hook between track/car show/meet days... strictly for looks imo.

thanks, that looks good on your car. Did you have any clearance issues with the actual hook section and your bumper cover when screwing it in?

My vote is for hiding it with some paint.

^yeah, that makes sense. I think I'll just use black paint to hide it; may look for a small plug to keep threads clean that can be removed by hand in case I need to use stock tow hook, which hopefully I won't. Thanks guys

Yep I had to pull the bumper cover off to install it, therefore it stays in all the time even though there is no track day booked
