Default Taking off 350z emblem on left not nissan emblem

Hi guys I am in the mids of removing my 350z emblem at the back of the car. I removed the 3 and there's some residue left over (kind of sticky glue). What can I use to remove this? I'm doing this tonight so if I could get a reply back asap that would be great. thanks

Goo Gone and a heat gun works great. Be prepared to see a "ghost" 350z if it's original paint.

I used a blowdryer and floss. Then used 3M adhesive remove to get the remaining residue off. As Sparco said, you will see a "ghost" of it in the paint. It didn't bother me since I took mine off to put Fairlady Z on.

There is no ghosting on mine, but then the emblem has been off for maybe 9 or 10 years.

No ghosting on mine, but my car is garage kept and has 26k miles on it, so it's had less time out in the sun than the average car. I let the car sit in the sun with the rear in direct sunlight for a little while to get everything warm, then just sawed through the adhesive slowly with floss. Each character left a significant amount of adhesive on the car but some bug and tar remover took it right off with a little vigorous scrubbing using a microfiber cloth.

I guess it depends on how old the car is when you decide to take the emblem off. When I got my Civic I removed the emblem about a month after I got the car and had no "ghost" but my Z was already 3-4 years old when I took the emblem off. The car is not garaged, although I take very good care of the paint. The "ghost" on my car was VERY faint and you could only see it at certain angles. I did use compound and it made it much better to how it looked when I first removed it.

Ghosting appears from perimeter surface wear leaving a swirl free are. Darker colors are more likely to show. Or from years oc fade, depends on the conditions. If it was removed when the car was new no ghosting would appear but this is 2014. I'm taking a leap to say the OP bought the car used and has 26k+ miles. I have 33k miles on my 05, very subtle ghosting appeared after I removed the emblem in 2012.
