This isnt about hp though, it's that the GTR isnt a very involved car. #1 reason I am looking at other cars on my next purchase. Find a car that's got serious power, and is very involving- and you've got a silver tuna.

Throw on good springs and dampers, tires, brake pads/fluid/lines and you've got a car that peforms well above what you paid for on the street.

I dont know if the welded Nismo chassis affected my ride experience, but I added some serious tires to my car and I would have put $$$$ against any little miata in the corners. Thing was absolutely insane with those tires and stock Nismo suspension.

We've got a few empty country roads that have some awesome dips, turns and hill climbs and I would just rip it through those roads. What a blast.

I re-did the suspension/brakes and it was great, but man, some serious sticky tires and the stock Nismo suspension was absolutely killer. The tires alone transformed the cars performance. On any Z, if someone put on some quality suspension and some serious tires, I bet they would be amazed at the difference.

The z33 is a long wheelbase and fairly wide. Its by no means a lightweight sports car either. The vq35de has good torque but it needs a solid 50-100hp to even be relevent. A vq35hr in a lightened up car with full bolt ons, gears and sticky tires could be fun around town. But the car was never quick even when new. Now most z's are a bit worn in the rings and likely down in power.
I mean unless you dont mind that a chick on a 250 or 300 could beat you. Or that you dont mind the s2k outhandling it drastically on small roads where high power doesnt matter.

A vortech or bp kit is all you need to make the car really fun

But i digress. A full rb kit painted and installed is at least 6 grand. Id much rather have a blower and some tires any day of the week. That still doesnt account for the wheels, or the suspension stuff needed to not make the car look stupid. But then you have a car youd be super paranoid to park anywhere, or drive on the street, that handles very poorly, looks stupid, and is still very very slow... actually even more so because you cant even put down 200whp on a 1 inch cambered out contact patch with cheap stretched out low profile tires.

Hella flush is modern day rice. Just because some people pour a lot of money into wheels and suspension, doesn't mean it's not rice. It's embarassing to own an import and watch people struggle to pull into the vons parking lot, backing up traffic with their fckng rota wheels, crap coils, loud crappy exhaust, and 30 million stickers about what "crew" they roll with

On my car I purchased quality parts,

Hotchkis sway bars
Power grid endlinks
Kw v1 front coil overs and koni struts and shocks for the rear german suspension
Nismo v3 oem Forged rims not the cheap cast iron rims from eBay
Momentum exhaust with a catless y pipe all from momentum
Jp vizage side skirts
Tourenn rear bumper
Stock 06 front bumper
Spc rear camber kit with toe bolts

And I didn't spend a **** ton of money as you think I bought the entire front rear and side skirts in Hawaii used for 200 dollars.

As you can see I don't fit your description of a ricer.... Buying cheap crap from autozone

And I have no stickers on my car...

Lol a miata in the same class as a z with nice tires in autox? Not a good match up man lol. Watch yourself, those things weigh about as much as my backpack and a six pack.

That's cool? Your car is lowered. It isn't "hella flush". It's not on its "nuts", you don't have massively oversized wheels with puny tires riding on more sidewall than tread. Lowering your car is whatever, slamming it is a whole other topic. Although, going more than an inch and a half on oem arms etc is kind of dumb, as your ratios get all whacked out. You don't have rediculous camber. I don't know what you're trying to prove, but your car isn't what I was talking about. Look at the red car in this thread and look at those tires and wheels. It's only going to get worse with the camber, tire/wheel combo and low to make that kit look not retarded. I'm specifically talking about those squashed ****-roach pieces of junk out there. Like little broken hotwheels. Lowering your car is your own choice, even if it hurts handling past a certain level. It's when you start running stupid sized wheels, camber out the ***, and crappy little tires when you look like a giant douche. Those people are just slow moving road hazards, waiting for a rutt in the road to plow them into a wall or someone else. So glad California now has camber laws. Seriously that chit is fuking dumb.

350z's are slow, and with boltons are just loud and slow. They aren't all rice however.

autox is a little different. Actually I think is autoX stoopid and for the birds. I've done it before, we have an group who organizes it at the nearby university/auditorium parking lots. Autox is for gocarts. I'm refering more towards RR or even back country roads like that of Zdayz. Something where speed has a bit of factor. Autox you might go 25 mph.

To each his own.....

I don't understand why people put 700 hp in their z but still live at home with mom and dad until their 30 something.

I don't understand why people do certain things but at the end of the day it's their money and if they are happy so be it. Everybody has different tastes......so yeah...

All these kids be running around "i support myself with my minimum pay job and i go to school for a useless degree" are up to their eyeballs in debt. Good luck getting a jorb, and then spend the next 10 years paying off 75k in debt

I'm 29, mortgage, married, etc. with my Z build.

I've got a small student loan though. Hopefully pay that off soon.

Man this thread has taken a serious detour lol

Lol if you have the opertunity to live with your parents and go to school than do it. I just turned 30, but I live alone. I did live with my mom for 6 months after I served 7 years in the Navy though....

Almost 98% of the Engineers I work with has student debt, but the pay is pretty good so it doesn't affect them much. But if you get a 4 year degree and settle for a low paying job then shame on YOU!

Living at home was the best. Free room and board and occasional meal. I had a mortgage shortly after college in SoCal where housing costs are through the roof, literally. Great having a garage, room, backyard bbqs and parties but sucked royally to let go so much of my income each month. I say stay at home as long as you can.

Why I ditched my mortgage and downsized. You get all crazy like the previous guy. Gets even better with raising kids, no time to go to meets and hang with nextcore.
