Default Why not enhance/recover/rebuild stock seat?

I am starting this thread after reading Bill250z’s thread:

https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...eau-seats.html

I did not want to jack Bill’s thread, and that is why I ask this question on a new thread.

Question: Is there a reason(s) that owners (who do not track/race their car) elect installing aftermarket seats instead of enhancing/recovering/rebuilding the stock seat?

Probably due to cost and time.

If you look up the price on just the cushions alone, they cost the same as a cheap seat. Add the cost of labor and reupholstery and you may as well buy an aftermarket seat.
