I know it's taking a while. Trying to balance between the vinyl, the new fuel system, the bigger supercharger, and everyday life.

On my way back home from the Bahamas so hopefully it won't be too much longer

Saw where another poster showed the vinyl turning brown after 9 months. How normal is that degradation and more to the point how durable are the vinyls. Car will be kept during down time under cover, but will sit in parking lot sun during day and have the common grind of getting dirty and cleaned. Thanks for any help.

I believe that issue was the pure white mixed with a boosted Z. I've had my metallic brown vinyl on for a year and 7000 miles now (no cats) and haven't noticed any change in the feel or appearance of it.

I don't rem if it was 3m 1080 or not but brand may be an issue as well as the white vs exhaust.

I have a satin aluminium and it shows some soot as well but I am not **** about it. Frequent cleaning with proper products will help.

Vinyl is awesome with my 3M 1080 expected 2-3 year lifespan. But once you learn to apply it yourself. The temptation to change it hits WAYYYYY before then. The sun actually tightens it up as long as you have applied adhesion promoter to edges you should be fine.

My wife hates having to help me apply it and has agreed to having it painted so she doesn't have to help Anymore. Tempted but would prob get bored and wrap it again. That would REALLY **** her off.

Research how how to apply on YouTube then learn how to DIY.

The white I used was Avery but I dont believe that was the issue. As Colton said, I think the issue was that it was such a bright white on a boosted Z with no cats. And while it was only a few months, that time period was about 15k miles and the car does not go in a garage unless its being worked on. Its purely an outside, uncovered car.

Was the Avery white satin vs gloss? May be a variable.

My wrap process is about to get pretty serious. Ive determined that next time the vinyl comes off I will need to do some paint correction. My clear coat and paint are chipping pretty bad and it shows through pretty heavy in some spots

Yea pretty much exactly what the color is. I even caught a glimpse of it at one point where it looked pure brown, couldn't manage to make it happen in the picture.

I like it a LOT......are you happy with it?

I had trouble with some of my armature body fill and primer pulling out if I had to redo say the bumper. That sucked major donkey dix.

Still love vinyl tho.

I am extremely happy with the color.

When I had the hatch/duckbill molded the first time I told my body shop guy not to prime it, because I was just going to wrap it. He said he wanted to prime it just to protect the bare metal so he threw some complementary cheap rattle can primer on. Which was nice of him, he didnt have to do that.

After time, the cheap primer started to lift in a couple spots so I had him redo it all with a high quality primer and so far its much better but only time will tell.

As far as this vinyl goes, I am thrilled with the color. But if you look at the vinyl on certain spots, it looks like a toddler did the work because as I was putting the vinyl on, the white paint would lift as Im working the vinyl on. So there are patches that look bubbly, but its actually the paint underneath that stuck to the vinyl. But its only in areas where my car was resprayed.

So its weird, the easy spots look bad and the tough spots look good. Like the front fenders are the worst looking, followed by the hood. Yet my front bumper I think looks fantastic.

And this time around I did the vinyl in cold (10-30 Fahrenheit), whereas last year I did it in spring where it was (50-60 degrees). That bit of cold make the vinyl MUCH harder to work with. It was so brittle and would spontaneously crack if you put too much pressure against it.

Here's a little more emphasis on the color shift of the black rose

Yea the front is time consuming but in my opinion the front bumper is one of the better pieces because the paint on my bumper isn't total trash
