Default Veilside V1 CF/FRP front lip crack-free installation instructions

Emailed Ray Fong at veilside about the cracking problem during installation of this lip spoiler and here is a snapshot of the word doc he sent me:

It appears you have to file away some of the lip to make it fit, but it doesn't give specific measurements for the cut...can anyone who has successfully installed this lip in cf/frp shed anymore light on this picture? thanks.

Default Veilside V1 Lip Install

Zeroday,

I bought the Veilside V1 lip in urethane. After I painted it, I installed it in about 10 minutes and it fit perfectly...no mods or sanding needed.

With your fiber-glass one just try pre-fitting it to see where you may need to sand to make it fit. Take your time..it will look good when you are done.

No instructions came with mine. Tad

thanks for the reply, i really just worry about cracking it accidentally during the fitment...apparently it's really easy to mess up(mine's the CF version). I'll do the test fit thing i guess; i was hoping someone could just tell me how much they cut out and where because the pic veilside sent me is kind of hard to decipher. keeping my fingers crossed.

Hmm...i just took mine off and resprayed it.

I did notice that mine was starting to crack right where it says to trim, so I took a chunk out of the those corners. I took a bit of material away, 1/2" maybe. I fit easier this time, thats for sure.

tad -
I just ordered a urethane V1 lip from Bulletproof for my black roadster, should get it next week. You said "after I painted it" - Any special paint considerations for urethane? What kind did you use?

Also - did you just tape the center section and bolt the ends as the FRP instructions directed? Any gaps on the fender curves? Thanks!
