So, went through the automated car wash with the Z. kinda seem to realize that the front license plate hangs down off the black plastic front bumper mount that when the car wash whirlybird/squid like rubber sheit comes around it snags and bends the license plate to high hell..............
Any who, any ideas, my first thought is to reinforce the license plate with a "backing plate" and securing it from both top and bottom bolts. I may end up having to make a very thick aluminum backing plate. some of the ones sold online may not be much stronger to prevent this.
and for all you homo's who say that i shouldn't be going through a automated car wash - get over it, its a 2004 350z, not a Lamborghini........i dont have the time to hand wash myself or take to a hand wash place every time...
license plate backing plate simlar to this, but thick and strong:

Easy upgrade is to take your towing bolt to lowes and get a long bolt and attach a plate to it or just order one lol now you dont have to put holes on your car and you won't have the problem if you ever go to a car wash bc it's out hanging outside

get the stillen license plate bracket. it is heavy duty metal all behind the plate, and it screws into the tow hook....
knowing you, you could easily fab one up very similar to it

My car has always had the oem black plastic bracket on it from the dealer when i bought the car......so the screw holes in the original bumper were always there, and every replacement bumper Ive purchased has always had the holes......replacement bumpers due to drifting/autoX damage...lol....fk'n cones..
I'm good with it, cause it has my custom vanity verbiage..
