Nothing funny about it. The police came, looked at the accident scene and both cars, but failed to find definitive proof of who caused this shunt. Which means both parties are at fault for an avoidable accident and the OP is responsible for using his own insurance.

Bottom line: this Redline Z will be totaled and the OP learned (?) an expensive lesson.

Happy that your ok, it does suck but i would strongly recommend you look into installing a dash cam in your next ride (hopefully it's another Z). A 50.00 dash cam could save your ***. Every car I have ever owned has had a dash cam and it has paid for itself far more then I could ever count.

CF doors on a street car? I don't think that's the best idea...

Was this bumped to remind the Z driving community that Thursday is thanksgiving and all Z cars should stay grounded in a safe location?

My z just became a bit rarer.

Best of luck with the insurance payout.

It's been over a month since the OP updated this thread. He most likely won't be back. I'd guess he's already taken the insurance payout and used most of it to pay off the $5K note he had on his Z. Now he's driving another car, while yet another redline Z gets left in a salvage yard.
