Default I think I actually have an original question for you guys!

So if you look at any of my previous posts, I hit a cat. (Que the catalytic converter jokes). Well.... Ironically enough, shortly there after I hit a racoon..... . Dodging a cat... Now my nickname is Racoon! Yay. 😑

Now my question is this. What kind of material for my front bumper should I get. Now I already know Shine makes good stuff. And I plan to buy from them. But I don't want to spend bookoos of money on a carbon fiber bumper when it'll crack just the same as the stock material next time I hit a small mammal. (Mind you I was only going 35 when I hit that racoon) Anyone had experiance in murding tiny innocent creatures? Long story short, what'll hold up best to small animals.

Anything fiberglass with shatter so stay away from it.

What you want is polyurethane.

I saw a dead bear on the side of the highway today

And a tractor trailer hit a deer right in front of me on the highway on Sunday... behing the tractor trailer was a Ferrari and it would have been priceless if he was the one who got the deer... But it was still super sad, he did get up and run into the woods but I cant imagine he was in good shape...

Anywho, I would say the stock bumper would probably hold up best for killing small animals... Probably go ahead and avoid the road murder though...

How about just NOT running cute little animals over?

Anyways, what you're looking for is the flexibility of a polyurethane bumper. It'll be heavier than what you're used to, but will hold up against the little critters.

So far no real solution for the bear problem mentioned above

Build a "Roo-bar". The aussies got it covered. Then you can plow through bunnies and coons and bambis and floofies all day without breaking a sweat!

Some murder holes in the hood and if you'll lucky some will land on the engine and by the time you get where you're going you'll have fresh bbq under there!

The Shine FRP material is pretty good as far as fiberglass goes. I've felt other fiberglass parts and they were stiff as a board, so they'd crack extremely easily. The Shine stuff is actually able to deform elastically quite a bit and as a result will hold up and resist cracking better than other traditionally awful fiberglass parts.

I would say look into Outcast Garage. In this link I have narrowed it down to only polyurethane bumpers. I currently have the INGS one on my car and the only issue I had with it is that it was actually too flexible and I made braces under the bumper to help support it

Lmao!!! Too soon? Rocket bunny mabey? I would assume they got the name from testing on small animals? But seriously poly is the way to go. It's strong flexible and cost effective. But as far as running over small animals... Cars are made now a days to absorb impact so they bruise easily good luck man try to avoid running over my daughters pets.

Every bumper we make is in polyurethane . I had a customer's "quick release" rubberband things break on them on the freeway, and after 13 miles dragging at 65MPH+ the bumper didn't break, just had holes on the bottom lip. Check out my sig, I think you'll be interested in what we have to offer.

So VIS wouldn't be a good choice for fiberglass? I really like the AM-S style bumper.

Shine parts will take a beating. I had the Shine Spec V (Vertex) lip kit hit curbs, bottom out, deform from parking blocks and go back to its original shape. Only thing that cracked and flaked off was the paint. Only hard part is getting Ken to pick up the phone, almost easier to drive there to order.

Even Shine's FRP? I've read that FRP and fiberglass is repairable and polyurethane is not...
