Default Simple hood alignment question

Well, my hood has a tiny gap that needs to be fixed after I got fender replacement and fender aligned. Just a hair to the side, here is my dumb question, do you loosen the bolts that attatches the hood to the hinge or the bolts that attatches the hinge to the car?

Sounds fairly dumb, but I would rather not screw this up or run in circles.

Thank you.

Default Hood sits up too high

Well, to cut it short I wrecked, got new fender and etc, got fender aligned etc. I started messing with my hood (trying to align it) a bit, and now it seems to sit up too high. The gap is not necessarily big between the hood and fender it's just the hood is too high, also now I have to press harder to close the hood. I was messing with the hinge (the two bolts on hood and then the two bolts bolted directly to car)

Also, note before I was messing with hood it did not sit too high it just had a larger gap between it and the fender.

Now, it just sits too high and I am not quite sure what to do. And advice would be great. I'm sure I just did something stupid wrong. Nothing appears to be bent.

We had a similar issue, turns out it was easier to remove the bolts holding the fender and put in 1/8 spacers under the fender line to match it up, took about 30 mins.

Thank you, and do you know if it's possible to move hood over a hair? I attempted but just made the situation worse. I read online, but obviously did something wrong.

We did a total replacement with a new hood, but we had no side to side alignment issues, so I'm not really sure

Did what you said and it helped:

Doesn't look perfect, but I did wreck at a high speed, doubt it'll be perfect and it's not the OEM fender. Surprised it's came this far.

Here is it before any work done to it:

Thanks to everyone who has helped me here!

Shims that's about it.

Where did you get your fender? Might need some for mine.

We used flat rubber washers from the hardware store.
