Default Need advice for buying my first Z

Hey guys, Im new here to the forums and looking to buy my first Z. Im looking at a few but would like to get some opinions/advice before pulling the trigger on one. So far the best deal(I think) I have found is an 05 with 34k miles on it and a clean title with a clean carfax and its recently had a lot of maintenance done to it. the seller is asking for 14k and some change. Would anyone be able to tell me if this is a good deal?http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...ink=true&Log=0 thats the Z

Not a bad deal for mileage. But if you could up your budget, most people would recommend buying a 07-08 which has updated interior, newer engine design with dual intake systems and such. They make more power and are just as reliable.

I am selling a 08 with all the bolt ons and tuned to 304whp and 280tq for $16,500 firm. It has 34,780 miles on it currently. 2nd owner, clean title.

I have a for sale post on here if you're interested.

Are you specifically looking for a vert? I highly recommend 07-08. Having an 06, and now having an 08 I highly recommend it. Whether it's mine or someone else's. Unless you're considering forced induction.

Going on base description and MILEAGE, that's a decent price but so many other factors come into play, hard to give a virtual thumbs up.

Would suggest you have it professionally inspected (or at least if it's been maintained by a dealer or shop, get their contact info and talk to them about the car.) And/or thoroughly inspect paperwork/receipts.

But that kind of LOW mileage is hard to come by and owning one with that low mileage would be most excellent.

see thats what i was thinking too as far as the low mileage. i could get a good number of years out of it before encountering any real problems

well right now its just gonna be a daily drive and after i finish with college then maybe either look into doing upgrades or upgrade to a 370 depending on how its still holding up and what not. but for the immediate future ill just be using it as a daily drive

I do have one question though. How does the convertible top maintain? like as far as maintenance during winter and what not? thats one of my main concerns with this particular Z is if the soft top will case problems come winter

They are pretty reliable, but issues come up sometimes. It is pretty expensive to fix (if you have a dealership do it) but there is a tutorial on the forum if you want to do it alone.

I still recommend spending another $1500 and buying my Z lol. 08 with 35k miles oomph.

If you dont have a garage to keep it in I wouldn't recommend a convertible, and if your in college and drive to a parking lot cutting your top and stealing your things is a real possibility if you leave any valuables in their...

I would also be looking into a G35 so you can cart around all them hotty freshmen who dont have cars...

2 seaters are better when your old, lame, and only have 1 friend.
