Default Maaco Paint Job

So, I recently bought a 350z, my first, a few months ago, and the previous owner stated he got the car painted, at Maaco, but went with their "top of the line" service. The job actually is decent, however he said he had them add more flake to the KY0. So, they put the 350Z letters on the wrong side and it has bothered me beyond belief and I take off the badges and they must've used the wrong glue and it peeled the paint underneath to reveal a slightly darker shade, which was expected.

I will show the picture of the body issue, but my question is, does Maaco store that info in their database to where they would know what mixture they used to paint match? I'm looking to have the peeling fixed. Also included a wider shot so you can get a better idea of damage and color. Thanks.

True, but was hoping someone has had some experience or possibly a better thought for repair ...

If they replaced the letters wrong after the paint they should fix it for free.

Agreed, just not sure if they keep record in their database, or how I would prove they were at fault ...

Put the letters back on the right side. You're probably not going to match the custom paint without the code they used.

Ouch. Just put it back on the right side... Not worth the hassle in my opinion. It would give Maaco another opportunity to screw something up.

Yeah, valid point, but having them on the right (wrong) side just bothers me beyond belief

Dude, I know the feeling. Even for something that small, it would bother the crap out of me.

This is the problem with Maaco; they don't have the attention to detail like other shops do. If this happened to me, I would get the "Fairlady Z" from emblem from ebay and test to see if I can place it over those blemishes. If you like the look and it successfully covers the blemishes then go ahead and fully install it. Yes, it's still on the wrong side but you might like it better than "350z" and it won't bother you as much since it's something different. If it still bothers you then take it off and just have Maaco fix the blemishes for you.

I'm glad someone knows how I feel!

I actually thought of that, and my hope was the Fairlady badge was supposed to be on the right side, and it seems like the only badge ever on the right of the Z was the NISMO one, and thats sacrilege to me too, since my car obv isn't a NISMO edition....

Its actually one of the better Maaco jobs, in the sense that they didn't spray over the handles, Z fender badge, and grill, very little overspray, high gloss, but just put the "350Z" on the wrong side...

The saga continues...
