Question Custom wing... group buy?

I'm in love with this wing... i've shopped around for the past few weeks in both NA and Asian tuning shops, and i've come up with nothing (asian tuning shops are easy to come by in Toronto)

Anyway I brought the pic below to my body shop in TO and asked them if they could custom make it.. they said no problem, 800 CDN ... but if i bought 6 or more (say in a group buy) to justify the construction of a mold, the price would be a lot better... closer to 500 cdn or less (300 USD or less) each!! (they can't give me a firm quote until i have an exact number on the initial order)

So with that said... would anyone be interested in a group buy for this wing?

good question, it very well might be...

but the pics come from someone in Japan, and if it IS a Japanese tuner selling it (which i can't find despite talking to a LOT of knowledgeable sources) i'm pretty sure importing it will come out to more than the 300 USD my shop is offering to build it for (with a group buy)... as with importing any aero part

looks so close to the nismo wing. specificly I think evoR has the baseless knockoff.

Id be rather curious to a shop claiming to model, mold, and pour a wing for 300$ each.

actually in my opinion it's more subtle, smoother... and it doesn't scream "I'm aftermarket", like the nismo/nismo replica wings

as for the price, it seems too good to be true too... but only way to confirm is to get a list of prospective buyers and negotiate the price with them... naturally i (as well as the other members in the group-buy) would want some gurantee of quality from my body shop... so to do this, i would get the first print of the wing from them and paint/install it on MY car first... i would then take pics so everyone (and me of course) knows what they're getting and to confirm quality/fitment/materials... so, as you can see, i'm taking a risk, but also gaining a lot of cost savings if i can get a group buy instead of custom making a single wing for me

hehe... trust me...i talked this over for a pretty long time with them before coming and posting here... so long in fact that they needed to kick me out (it was closing time)

anyway i'm trying to get a list of prospective buyers right now... no one needs to put down money until i get the first prototype and install it on my car... but please speak up if you're interested!

Whats all the hype its a stock wing from a Toyota Celica. You can buy em for like $100 bucks.

Red6, I think that you may be right. SpoilerDepot (I know, I know) has them for $115.

cool, i never noticed the similarity to the Celica spoiler! i think it's a pretty good match, although it looks like the wing on the celica is a little more curved than the one on the Z above (which looks like it has a jagged line in it at the wing-tips like the nismo)

anyway i'm going to give my shop a call this afternoon to bring this finding to their attention... i'll post here when i find out some details

Crase,

That's close, but not quite the same as what is on the black Z above. The kit on the black is Ings, but not the spoiler. I'm going to try and track the maker of that wing.

From the pics of the redline, it definitely isnt a Celica wing then.
