Talking New SB Z & tint question

Hey, I've been a long time lurker of this site, and 2 days ago I finally got my 04 SB 350Z Enthusiast 6spd. It's exhilirating to drive, but you all know that. Anyway, I take it to get the windows tinted tomorrow (20% all around). I was wondering if anyone has tinted to front windshield, and if they have how did they deal with that "dot matrix" stuff by the rear view mirror. I don't want any bubbles in my tint. Any information would help. Thanks.

PS. Any Jacksonville guys on here?

Sorry for the small pics, but it said no bigger than 640x480.

OK..you..get off that car immediately... )

Welcome to the board! You did a good job in selecting the fastest color...black!

Regarding tint, are you sure you want to tint the front? Not only is it illegal in every state (i think), but your front will, by default, look a lot darker once you put on the 20% tint on your other windows. Just my opinion.

The dot-matrix stuff shouldn't be a problem for any good tinter. If you decide to tint the front, make sure your tinter can apply the front in one big piece, so you won't have any visible seams between the pieces of film. Good luck!

I have the top tinted, "visor strip" they called it. love it for blocking the sun since the Z has no factory tint up there. no problems with the dot matrix.

I got 20% side windows, 35% rear because sometimes at night idiots forget their headlights and with 20% rear at night, and the dimming rear veiw mirror, it's nearly impossible to see the car behind you.

I left my front untinted, but if you decide to do it, remember don't do more than recommended because I know cops here are really strict about it. Also make sure the shop knows the windows roll down 10mm when opening such as the BMW's, so they put the film under the flaps on the door, so you won't inquire any peeling. Other than that, congrats on the new SB Z!

if you tint your windsheild, dont go more than 50%. Your night visability will be so reduced its sick. I have 35% all around, and at night out the sides you cant see half the stuff as you can through the windsheild.

yeah I wouldnt do the windsheild... Im not sure if you will pass tech at a track if the windsheild is tinted.

its would have a nice effect, but your gonna have to drive it sometime, not just eye candy. appearance is fine till it impedes function.
