Evo-R Type S CF spoiler
I need opinions! I got my Evo-R Type S CF spoiler, set it on the car and took these pics. I think it looks sharp but after seeing the one painted blue to match I'm torn on what to do. Paint or leave it alone?? Any opinions you might have would be great.

I don't know what you should do but I kinda like the way it looks on your car just like that. The blue one does look great painted. There is another member with a great looking silverstone with that wing, check his out = Havabooz * check the spelling

im actually getting a new kit on that will be painted the color of the car...so the only CF will be the wing and the hood..and if i take the hood off then the wing will be the only CF so wait for those pics
im the kinda person that likes CF and the quality on this wing is great so i would never paint it (plus it costs extra money that i dont feel like spending

Hmmm I like this wing and wondered what it would look like unpainted on a Silverstone. Does look nice unpainted.... but it would look good painted.... Tough one. Looks nice either way I suppose

Thanks
Hey thanks for all the help guys. I'm wishing i could paint it take a look and then decide lol. I'm not planning on getting a CF hood so it kinda sticks out a little. Ya paint costs a little more but if it makes the lines of the car flow better it might be worth it. I'm tortured. What to do, what to do??
P.S. thanks Andy for such a great product, I hope painting CF isn't a slap!!

Why dont you paint part of it, but leave some parts CF? Maybe leave the risers bare, but paint the wing? Somethign like that. I am also not a fan of full CF, I think it looks like parts thrown on without paint. Just my opinion, but I think a nice paint job looks much better. I prefer CF accents, not whole peices.

howbout leaving a little rectangle in the center on the top of the wing unpainted....and paint the outside parts of the bases but leave the insides CF...thats not a bad idea..and its not tacky

I would say not paint it. If this a real CF (you know what I mean) would be another story. I don't see a reason to paint your CF finish. If you wanted to paint the whole thing, you should go for a fiberglass one. At least save you couple bucks.

Looking sharp. Paint it or not paint it, all depends on what will you do next. If you are going to put CF hood and CF body kit then don't. You got to have something to match it if you are not going to paint it.

Decision
I've decided to paint the spoiler to match the car since I don't plan on installing any other exterior CF parts. Should be done and installed mon-tue next week. I'll be sure to post pics. I also talked to Kevin from D&V Auto body -- Chantilly, VA and he was very helpfull in describing the painting process to me. I saw his work on a previously painted spoiler. Thanks guys for all your opinions and thoughts.

id say paint it! cuz the only type of wing/spoiler that would look good unpainted in CF look is the one that have center blade. like the Veilside V1 for the Z, Mitsubishi EvoIII's spoiler. but that... id paint it to match your car's color.

Ok guys.....I ordered the carbon fiber wing from Andy and am using my genuine NISMO base (NISMO spoiler cracked). I also have a full carbon fiber NISMO replica kit coming in next week. My car is in the shop right now being repaired from some a**hole backing into me. I like the two tone look of the R tune and was thinking of leaving the bottom portions of the body kit carbon fiber and the top portions silverstone. If I did this, any of you think I should paint the carbon fiber wing, parts of it.......suggestions please. Currently, I am leaning toward paining the whole wing. Maybe I could paint the base silverstone with the black piece on the back and leave the actual spoiler carbon fiber????? I have about a week to make up my mind!!!! I'll post pics when done. Oh yeah.......Kinetix plenum on its way!!
