Hey Kosta, I am still interested as well. As we discussed at your shop, I am totally willing to spend the extra bucks on the Aluminum version in case you do not have the plastic version available right away.

Hey did you guys see the first post in the z section tonight. It seems that Courtesy Nissan has produced the exact emblem that we have all been agonizing for the past few months. Ask me if that is not strange. You need to take a look. They are taking orders for a late July arrival date. $30.00 gets you one. It's not that I am not happy that the emblem will be available, it just seems strange that they would produce one. My wife had a good thought though. She said that the people from Courtesy have probably been following this whole thread from the beginning. It would be nice for them to give the guys on this forum a small discount.

 

NO, NO, No, NO, Noooooooooo!!!!! I don't want Chrome!!!! Thats the whole reason I want too change the emblems in the first place. Why didn't nissan match the rest of the car and just make the hood and trunk emblems that same mat aluminum?

 

I agree. NO CHROME. Ok lets do another 20 pages and see if we can get them to do it in a mat aluminum to match the rest of the car.

Chrome maybe, but I still like it better than what came with the car. I think I'll wait to though. Bet they come out with a matt finish.

 

Kosta, it seems that youv'e been blindsided by Courtesy Nissan. Are you still planning to go ahead? I would still like to see what your guy comes up with.

 

Well...crap. I think I could take that same emblem and make it have a matte aluminum look to it with the right stuff...some sanding and some great attention to detail...of course now i almost wish I hadnt spent some money on the led side markers so I'd have money for these..oh well, wait till next paycheck I guess..

 

Yes, but they didn't do their homework correctly; we didn't want chromed ABS plastic! I'm interested in seeing the billet aluminum version that kosta157 is having made. I hope he doesn't change his mind after learning that Courtesy Nissan is on the fast-track with their product.

Are the stock emblems abs plastic as well? I thought the original guy in japan took his original emblems and sanded them down...

 

I've e-mailed Courtesy Nissan like two or three times sine they posted this new emblem on their site to see whether they plan on carrying this in a brushed aluminum or black chrome finish and have yet to get a response. It doesn't surprise me that they went with plastic. Seems kind of cheap in my opinion, but I guess it keeps their overhead down. Kosta, any luck with the emblem you are working on?

 

Was kosta157 coming back with updates or samples anytime soon?

 

I've thought the same thing. Maybe he has just decided to let it go since Courtesy came out with their new emblem. If that's the case maybe he will tell us and we can put this thread to bed permanetly.

 

Did you ever produce it? I am in England and want one desperately.

The production of the emblem within the forum has evidently come to an end. If you check with Courtsey Nissan, they recently started to produce an emblem that is very much like the emblem that was going to be produced here. Hope that helps.

 

Coutesy Nissan hasn't answered any of my e-mails in regard to whether these emblems are going to made in anything other that Chrome finish. Personally, I want one that is brushed aluminum. I know that some out there would prefer Hyper Black or Black Chrome. If there is any hope of this emblem being produced from this thread, some please speak now, or I am going to an outside vendor to check for myself.

 

I am not the person that was looking into having the emblem made. There were two people looking into it. One dropped out totally a while back for reasons I can no longer remember. There was still one person working on it when courtesy nissan sprung their surprise emblem. I guess they were monitoring our thread, because after about 19 pages they announced an emblem pretty close to the one that was in the works here. As far as the second person, I don't think he has posted since Courtesy made their announcement. Soooo I guess that leaves Courtesy. Maybe if they sell enough or monitor the forum, they will see that most members would rather have the brushed look or the darkened chrome look. I guess only time will tell.
